In the middle of the afternoon yesterday all of my remote controls stopped working at the same time controlling different devices. The remote for my directv reciever, my stero, my dvd player, and even the default tv set remote all fail to work. It seems like there must be some sort of interfernce but I can't think of what it could be. I can turn on all of the devices by hand but once again the remotes collectively do nothing. Any help diagnoising or what I can do would be greatkt appreciated.
Problem was my dvd remote had something sitting on it causing it to shoot a solid signal stream out, once i figured that out and removed the object from the dvd remote, everything was perfect. Freaked me out though but an easy fix.

Fist, make sure the bulbs are good. Check in another fixture to verify that they indeed work. Since the remote works the fan, dead batteries can be ruled out. The problem will be confined to either a bad receiver in the fixture, or a bad remote.
Since Hampton Bay is a line carried by Home Depot, you may have some luck bringing your remote to HD and trying it out on the display units. You may need to try different address settings on the remote to find one that works if you don't get results the first time. This is usually several two position switches often called "DIP Switches". Change the positions of them one at a time until you find one that works. Try to control a fan first. Once you find a fan the reacts to the commands from the remote, try to control the light. If the light doesn't work - the remote has a bad transmitter or light switch control. You could attempt to disassemble the switch, but most don't have parts that look different when they're bad. You'll probably have to replace the remote.
If the lights work, then the problem is with your fixture. You can remove or simply bypass the radio controller in the fixture and install an after market receiver and remote to control it again. These are sold at Home Depot and work with any paddle fan.

I found the following reference to resetting anything related to the ZN110 remote:
"This remote control works well for all the basic functions on the television: changing channels, adjusting volume, and turning the set on and off. There is not a way to program the TV with the remote control, so if you need to reset the channels after a power outage, for example, you have to do it manually on the TV set itself."
U have glitches in the reprograming back and forth.Take the battery out, about an hour.Reprograms the codes again, should work again.Don't reprograms the codes back and forth to many times or one times to many will kill the remote for good.U have 2 tvs,U should have 2 tvs remotes.
try with simple test. with any camera (mobile) check for any light (infrared light is not visible, only cameras see the infrared light) in front remote control, while press a key, if a flashing light deteted the remote control is ok, and the problem maybe on remote function is selected, normaly using tv and select VCR or AUX, may occur this problem. or a defective receiver sensor.
My guess is that a neighbor close by, got a similar fan. This is common I understand. Other than that.....I can not think of a single thing! I say that even after 30+ years of working with electrical, and electronics.
