Question about HP JBL Platinum Computer Speakers
I took these speakers off my Compaq monitor, bought a power cord at Radio Shack, inserted the wiring into back of computer - green to green, and powered them up and no sound??? I can hear a clacking noise from the speakers and the on/volume button light is on, but no sound from the speakers. They did work with the Compaq monitor.
Any ideas what may be wrong?
Will I need a new sound card?
Are drivers necessary for the speakers?
Make sure that you got 12v 1.0 A adapter. Not .01 A. They have one at newegg.com atrix DVCPA1AA power adapter-12v 1.0 A. you should not need drivers for speakers. Make sure you got it pluged into right port if you got the adapter. Also make sure under control panel under sound that you got it setup for two speakers.
