Glenn, thank you for responding to my question on the bradford white hot water heater. It is an electric hot water heater, 7 years old. Our water is good in this area, not considered hard water. We do not have a water softener. Appreciate any advice you can give me.

Hello, I recently had a Rinnai tankless water heater installed. The old water heater was in the garage. The new tankless heater is installed outside, and is about 25 feet away from where the old one...

I agree with you. The foam insulation should only be on the Hot Water side. The cold water side doesn't make any difference, as that temperature rarely changes in California.

Hope this helped you AK, thanks for choosing FixYa.

On our AE125, the thermal cut-off is tripping AFTER the water is turned off. The heating element is getting so hot you cannot touch it

The elements are getting over heated then set temperature. You have a defective thermostat. The elements will continue to heat until they reach the set point of the thermostat. Try to lower the temp setting first. If that does not fix it, you'll need to repalce the thermostat, located very near the element, under the screwed cover on the side of the tank.------------- To know how this heater works, read as follows:---

Because electric tankless water heaters have to instantaneously raise the temperature of incoming water to a selected hot water temperature, they require very powerful heating elements. To power the heating elements of this 27,000 Watt model, you will need to upgrade the electrical service you were using for your storage tank water heater. The PowerStar AE125 will require a 240V, 200 Amp service. In addition you will need to install three 40 amp dedicated double pole breakers in your electrical box. In Canada, you will require one 120 Amp breaker.

The PowerStar AE125 electric tankless water heater incorporates a very sensitive flow sensor, and three heating elements. The heat from the electric elements is electronically modulated on the basis of the flow rate of the water entering the water heater, and the temperature rise that the water heater must achieve. Through its electronic modulation system, the AE125 maintains a very precise hot water temperature. As a safety precaution, each of the three heating modules is protected by an electro-mechanical thermal cut-out. This device will cut power to a particular module if the temperature gets too hot.

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How do I set my thermostat so that it doesn't keep going off and leaving me with no hot water .I have a Honeywell digital thermostat.

The problem is not your thermostat. It is the person who told you that your AC would be your sole source of hot water. The purpose of heat recovery is to ASSIST with hot water production and reduce the current used by your water heater. The only time your AC heats your water is when it is working to cool (or if it's a heat pump, cool and heat) your home. Turn your water heater back on and let your AC help keep the water hot. It's not supposed to do it alone.

I have a Atwwood modelGC6 9A-10E hot water heater. I can not get the electric part to heat... My guess is the element is burned out? How difficult is it to replace the element?

Yes, more than likely it is the heating element. Which should not be that difficult to replace, as it's just like a regular electric water heating element for residential water heaters, rather than ones made for the Motor Home or Travel Trailer industry. The only significant difference I can see, is it's a little shorter than those for home use.

Once the tank is drained, the element unscrews from the side of the tank. Of course, the circuit breaker to the water heater should be turned OFF, before starting any repairs. As should the water supply line feeding the heater. It's all pretty much a straight forward repair. Just be sure to take the old element with you when you go to purchase one. That way you can match up the proper size and amps that's needed. If you can find a stainless steel one, I would highly recommend it. It cost a bit more, but will last a lot longer.

Hope this helped to solve your problem. Please let me know.

Heating system in the cabin has a heater core, where is this heater core situated in the car

Usually the heating is the circutlation of the hot water from the engine to the pipes within the blower unit so that when it is switched on the hot water flows to engage the heating.

I want to be prepared to change my Carrier Furnace from Natural Gas to Propane if I need to.. I was told that their should be a little sack with a replacement jet hanging there somewhere. There is not.. ...

not only do you need the nozzles....you will need the spring changed in the gas valve and a manometer to set the proper gas pressure output from the valve. If you change the jets only you could do alot of damage to your furnace.

NO HOT WATER UNLESS HEATING IS ON

Some Hydronic heating systems have a loop for hot water. If you only have hot water when the heat is working then your normal hot water heater is out of the circuit. Breaker off, or problem with the normal water heater. These can be ether electric or gas.
