  • it will probably always do it a little.
  • but for me it is a sign of a good refrigerator.

Freezer working fine, but frig not very cold. I did notice a little ice inside freezer on top side

TOTALLY defrost your freezer. Make sure there is no ice left in the bottom, in the passages into the fridge.
Check your door seals. Put a dollar bill between the unit and the door. You should feel resistance when you pull it out. If not, replace the seal. The door MUST be absolutely flat when you replace the seals.

Frig is 11 months old. ice is forming on vegetables in the bottom right crisper despite turning refrigerator down to 2 from 5 factory setting. this did not happen for the first 8 months. any suggestions?

Try turning freezer control to 7 and check 24 hrs.

Why ??? the freezer control is usualy the damer door control between the freezer and freshfood side... by turning the freezer up you will be closing the door to the freshfood side giving it less freezing cold air. :)

If this does not solve your problem the you will have a Thermostat control problem.

Over under Amana split door top frig

You may have an issue with a defrost component (e.g.: defrost thermostat, defrost heater(s) or defrost timer). Contact an appliance service company.

Frosting up of freezer fan/fan runs continuously

Clean and check the seals around the doors, the unit is trying to compensate for temperature loss.

Freezer works, frig does not. Also ice build up in freezer coil

I just worked on a FF801W which is supposed to be very similar. The defrost heater in mine was of the glass tube type and located under the evaporator. There was a bimetal thermostat clipped to the top of the evaporator and a thermal fuse (sealed in a clear plastic tube) nearby. The connections were behind a little plastic cover (2 screws) in the back wall just above the evaporator.

Mine was iced up like yours and I had to defrost it with a hair dryer. All the defrosting parts in the freezer compartment turned out to work so I now suspect the defrost timer (down by the compressor). I've marked it and I'm waiting to see if it's turning.

Frig not cold but freezer is ice maker not making much ice either

Is your fan blowing in the freezer? Frost on the back wall of the freezer usually indicates a defrost problem... defrost themostate, heaters, take back panel off and check evap for frost build up and if your fan in working.
