Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hello team, I have a Panasonic CRT tv model number TX-36PB50, its approx 5years old. The issue I have is that when switching on the unit I have no sound, all other functions are working, the sound will come on after a while sometimes its a couple of minutes but sometimes its 30 minutes. On occasion switching the unit off and on will result with the sound returning but not every time, there appears to be no pattern to the issue. I have no other sound equipment connected to the TV. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the solder connections on the audio output IC, sounds like a solder issue more than anything else.

My sony KP-443X3U rear projection tv went to standby and I cannot get it to switch on. It is approx 6 years old. I think the bulb needs to be replaced?

Google the model number to locate it with "lamp" and You Tube has video instructions for replacing in most models--lamp has a 2,000 hour or 2 year average life and is meant to be replaceable by the customer who owns the set.

Is your TV still under warranty? This problem seems common on this site with the Panasonic brand. I really can't say what exactly is causing this problem, but it seems like something in the power circuit board is faulty. My advice would be to call Panasonic's Technical Support Hotline and speak to a Technician. It could even be a problem that has warranted a recall of that particular model. The number for Panasonic's Hotline is 1-800-211-7262. Or, you can contact them via e-mail @ www.panasonic.com under "Get Support". Hope this helps...

Color spots on 61" LCD Panasonic rear projection tv

had the same problem on my 52" LCD rear-projection Panasonic,
contacted Panasonic support (number is on their website) and after
several transferred calls, they set up a service call with an area
service rep, who callled the house that evening to confirm appointment.
He came to the house, removed the set back cover, and installed an
EEPROM upgrade, problem is fixed and was told problem will not re-occur.
No cost due to Panasonic extending the warranty to fix known issue with
sets. (Mine was over 3 years old).
