My saw is not oiling enough. It only uses approximately 1/4 tank of oil per gas fill up. I cleaned out the tank until the filter is clean and adjusted the oiler screw to it's most open position. What can I do next?

Release the chain brake and remove the bar and chain. Clean the engine area where the bar fits to, then start the engine--oil should ooze out of the side port. In that case, clean the bar drive-end small oil passages that run from the large holes out to the chain groove on each edge. These passages commonly plug with sawdust/dirt over time and cause greatly reduced oil to the chain/bar. When all is back together, run the saw at speed with the bar tip near some cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after a moment or two of running. Adjust the oil volume screw to achieve that result. Hope this helps!

I filled the gas tank in my chain saw with bar oil. Is there an easy way to remove the oil from the carburetor and get it started?

Hello. It's doubtful the bar oil has made it to the inside of the carburetor. Dump as much as possible out of the tank, disconnect the gas line from the carburetor and blow any oil in the line and filter back to the tank. Partially fill the tank with premix and briskly shake the saw to dilute the bar oil. Dump the bar oil pre mix solution from the tank and repeat. This will also clean the in tank filter and should be done at the beginning of the season.

What kind oil is i fill in fuel tank

First you must know the proper fuel to oil ratio. I have seen saws run 50:1, 40:1, and 32:1. When you buy some 2 cycle oil there will be instructions on the container on how much oil you need to add per gallon of gas to get the ratio you saw needs. On some saws the ratio is listed on the fuel cap.

No engine light.2005 chevy trailblazer using a lot of fuel

First of all, I would (if it was my Chevy), add an entire 16oz Marvel Mystery-Oil (for GAS & OIL), into my Tank (drop-in a 12oz to your engine oil as well while you clean-out in preparation for NANO & FilterMAG), run-it to 1/4 tank, add another 12ozs and fill-up, and thereafter 8 to 12ozs per fill-up or when ever! Then get yourself this other great wonder, used all over Europe, and other parts of the world: http://razorinnovation.com/razor/index.htm 1 x 30ml per faculty or 4 to 10 L Lubricant (its best one-per). NANO is going to restore your entire Engine Block, Piston-walls, Cam & Crank Shaft and all the parts in your entire Engine, Tranny or Gearbox, Power-steering and also Differential. Some facts:
Fuel Saving up to 8-21% (up to 40% in idle mode)
5 times lowered noise and vibration levels
Restores friction surfaces and protects 100 times reduction of the friction coefficient
Increased Oil Pressure & Greater Combustibility
Bring engine power back to 100%
3-9 times reduction in CO and CH in the exhaust
Environmental Friendly with no side effect.

Now, this is no joking matter, it is going to reverse everything, with more miles you drive, the better it gets. I would also do one of these [ http://www.razorinnovation.com/unique/html/catagery.asp?uid=6&cat=Magnetic%20Oil%20Filter%20System ], to make sure the Engine and or Tranny Oils are 100% clean longer. 'Clean Oil runs your Engine Cooler'. I hardly add Gas to my tank, I run longer for years!

My saw is two weeks old it uses 3 tanks of bar&chain oil to 1 tank of gas is there a adjustment for setting?

Take the bar and chain off and clean both thourghly. Use a small blade screwdriver to scrape built up saw dust, dirt woodchips or whatever from bar track and make sure both are in good shape. The oil port should be located by bar alignment pin.Brush it clean and if you have access to compressed air then blow out to help clear port. Turn your saw upside down and locate screw that has directional arrow to + or - to add or subtract amount of oil flow.
I would start and run saw with bar and chain installed and properly tensioned. Let saw warm up then hold saw about one inch above clean piece of wood and run at full throttle for 30 seconds. There should be a light coating of oil on board. If you have too much oil then turn screw in direction on - until you get it set where you want it. There should be a light coating of oil on chain and bar at all times.
I mostly use stihl saws and run about 1 1/2 tanks of gas per tank of oil and this works great for me. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

The oiler will not work i took the bar and chain off cleaned everything but it will not oil the chain

Most machined will have an oil filter in the tank, drain the chain oil out and fill the oil tank with a suitable cleaning fluid, rinse the tank out a few times, this will help to clean the filter if it is blocked.

Haven't used my Huskqvarana Chain Saw, Model 61, 1983 in awhile. Am cleaning it up and can't find instructions for gas:oil ration if oil is necessary. Can you help me?

50:1 using fresh fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil mixed in it's own can. Be sure to shake the can thoroughly just before filling the tank each time to avoid oil starvation. Don't mix more than one gallon at a time unless your business is sawing. Be sure to replace the fuel filter and probably the fuel lines. Replace the air filter and clean the muffler. You may need to clean and rekit the carburetor if it has been in storage for some time. If the spark plug has worn electrodes, replace with new and gap at 0.020". Spark should be blue and 'snappy'. Make sure the chain oiling is correct by running the bar tip near some cardboard for a moment or so--it should leave a thin line of oil. Hope some of this helps!

My saw barely uses half of the oil tank with a tank of gas when new it used almost all of it and even sometimes ran out

1. clean bar & saw - checking oil holes, groove on bar; oil outlet on saw - may be partially blocked - a fine wire may assist with careful clearing.
2. if cleaned replace bar/chain and test for oil flow.
3. drain oil and check if there is a filter, clean/replace filter and clean out tank.
4. see step 2
5. If still not flowing - check for manual adjustment of oil pump.(May need to be advanced)
The next steps depend on your own abilities and experience as to whether you want to further investigate or approach a reputable dealer to see about repairing or replacing oil pump and or associated oil line(depends on your brand/model etc).

I have a McCulloch Model PM 310 , Gas Chainsaw. How would the spark plug be accessed?....Rich

Storing a chain saw for longer than 30 days requires storage maintenance. Unless the storage instructions are followed, fuel remaining in the carburetor will evaporate, leaving gum-like deposits. This could lead to difficult starting and result in costly repairs. Never store a chain saw for longer than 30 days without performing the following procedures:
Remove the fuel tank cap slowly to release any pressure in tank. Carefullydrain the fuel tank.Start the engine and let it run until the unit stops to remove fuel from carburetor. Allow the engine to cool (approximately 5 minutes).
Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark plug.
Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-cycle oil into the combustion chamber. Pull starter rope slowly several times to coat internal components. Replace spark plug.
Store the unit in a dry place and away from possible sources of ignition such as a furnace, gas hot water heater, gas dryer, etc. When removing the unit from storage, be sure to perform the following procedures:Remove spark plug. Pull starter rope briskly to clear excess oil from combustion chamber.Clean and gap spark plug or install a new spark plug with proper gap.Prepare unit for operation.Fill fuel tank with proper fuel/oil mixture.

This will help. Thanks, please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
