We had this same problem, and this is what resolved it. Unplug the tv from the wall, wait a minute, plug it back up, and turn it on again with the "power" button. This worked for us (without a remote).

Try connecting this TV to a VCR or DVD player. Then press channel two and continue to press channel down. See if this will work. Also...if you have an older model Emerson TV remote, it will operate the Orion TV. Let me know if this will work!
I assume that pushing the channel up and channel down buttons does nothing. You could try unplugging it overnight and see if it's forgotten its settings come morning.
But if that doesn't work, you're probably going to have to get a universal remote and program it to your TV. Quite a number of TVs (and DVD players and VCRs for that matter) no longer have a full set of controls on the TV. Some things just can't be done without the remote (a fact that really irritates me).
not worth buying a remote, you can use an rf converter or what i did was use an old DirecTV remote as i have several. on DTV remote, set selector switch located at top of remote all the way to the right to tv. Then hold down the select and mute button at the same time until the green light blinks 2 times, then enter one of these codes until the power button turns on the tv. Codes are as follows 10236 10463 11463 10179 11911 11929. Also verify that the tv input button does activate the aux channel. I knew these old remotes would come in handy some day.
Turn the set on, hook the cable directly to the TV, take the remote control and press 1 - 1 and if the TV tunes in channel 11 then your set is fine. If the TV was autoprogrammed when hooked to a cable box then the only channels that will be stored in memory are 3, maybe 4 and AUX. To correct this simply go back into the menu and look for the "autoprogram" option and perform the autoprogram while the cable is directly connected to the TV, without a cable box.
