Check for solder cracks around the flyback and around the Horizontal output Transistor, as that chassis is famous for bad solder joints.

Rca rear proj. 1993 model p46151wk tv just went dead no picture no sound no light on power button I only found 1 fuse it is good

Take a look at CR4118, and the capacitors around the power supply regulator chip. You likely have capacitors that are dried out. They can take out the chip, and Q4101, the 'chopper'.
The web site: http://eserivceinfo.com/ has a program for the CTC169 series of RCA projo's that is very useful in finding the fault that causes the condition you describe. Just enter ctc169 into the search box. Or go to this URL:

Set turned off by itself, power light flashes, and then I smelled something electrical. It will not turn on with remote or manually.

HI, thank you for visit fixya.
Two possibles solutions:

1.--Horizontal capacitor is burn or blown.
Need be replace, located beside horizontal transistor ( .0082uf 2kv ).
Clean the aarea on the chassis.
2.-- Transformer fly back is burn, need be replace.
If you will work on this tv or any special technician will work on this tv, request for replace capacitor on power supply. Common problem too.
Any question. let me know ,please.
Thank you.

I just acquired an RCA P46738AT television set made in 1994- 1995. The TV makes a quiet charging noise when it is plugged in but no light on the power button and no power. Not sure what to do about this...

This is a common problem and chassis (CTC169) and it sounds like the HV block is bad. Part# 205064. Caution is required when replacing since High Voltage is present.

RCA tv model D52W14

That is an ITC222 chassis and likely the HOT has shorted, 2sc5588 Rca Part # 259899
You might also check Cp150 2200uf/16v in the 6 volt line, a common failure. Always replace Cp120 330uf/35v & Cp150 2200uf/16v and always resolder Cl031 & Cl032...
There is also a tech bulletin Tv-06003 Dated 12/8/2006 which states:
Replace deformed ribbon cable plastic connector BP005 on the flyback board. This connector is warping or bowing (May Not Even Look Like It) and causing poor connections to the ribbon cable. Replace Rca P/N # 258686.
Try putting pressure on the BP005 connector and turn the set on, you may find the set will now work fine. Replace connector and you may wish to replace the ribbon as well while you are doing the repair!
This set is notorious for failures like this and it is not uncommon to find multiple problems.
Hope this helps!
