Re: Disney Pix Micro Digital Camera-Princess
There is a DLL that isn't registered in Windows Vista that needs to be manually registered. Click on your start menu button, go to programs, then accessories and right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. If the prompt is already at c:\windows\system32 then type cd c:\windows\system32 and press enter. Once you've done that you'll need to type the following exactly...
...and press enter. You should get a message that the DLL is registered. You can then close those screens and try installing again. Shouldn't have any problems.
a 6ya Expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This seems to be a pretty basic camera for kids. Sears is selling it perhaps the store can assist you with battery. All cameras have some type of battery. This one uses 1 AAA battery. Kids toys generally have a little screw holding the door to the battery compartment in place. Many times those little eye glass screwdrivers or computer screw driver will do the trick. If you have Microsoft Vista then you're in trouble. Digital Blue is the maker of the camera and software. The editing software that ships with the unit is available there for download...but the driver...WHICH YOU WILL NEED...contains an empty .INF file...meaning if you have Vista you cannot use this camera. My advice is to return it for a refund.
i had the same problem with my camera too but i emailed the manufacter and this is what they sent me:
Hi, Thank you for your interest in Digital Blue. Please unplug the camera from your computer and follow the steps below.
Open the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on 'Command Prompt' and select "Run As Administrator...".
This will bring up a window saying 'Windows needs your permission to continue', please click on the 'Continue' button.
When the DOS window opens, type in (without the quotes): 'cd c:\windows\system32'
The above should change the command prompt to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32:.
Now, type in (without the quotes): 'regsvr32 vbscript.dll' (dll = dynamic link library)
You should see a window pop up stating 'DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.'
Please insert the software CD with version 2.2.0 into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.
This will bring up the auto-play for the install, please follow the prompts to go through the installation.
The install consists of three different software packages, you should see the Pix 2.2, Pix Loader or Pix Micro Downloader, and the DB CIF Cam being installed.
If you receive an error after the Pix 2.2 install, you will need to download the drivers and Downloader program from our website at http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html You will need to select the 'Disney Pix Micro Downloader' and 'Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN Vista'.
Once you have installed the drivers and downloader program you will be asked to restart your computer. After the computer has been restarted, plug the camera into the USB port and look to see that the computer says the drivers have been installed.
Open the Pix Loader or Disney Pix Micro Downloader from your Desktop or from the All Programs list and click on the Download button. If you have a 'Pixel Up' window pop up, click OK, and wait for the download to finish. A 'Delete' button will come up on the Downloader program which will indicate the download has been completed.
You can view the photos by going to 'My Pictures' > 'My Snapshots' or using the Pix 2.2 editing software.
