Question about Rival S12T Electric Skillet
Sometimes when I use the skillet, it just turns off (I know this because the orange light is off). I thought that it was the electric socket, but I tried the plug in another socket, with the same results. I will turn the knob up just a little bit, and the light will come on for a for about 30 seconds, and then turn off again. I will repeat this "game" until I hit the maximum temperature. Then, I have to wait a few minutes, plug it in again, and go through the same procedures until dinner is cooked.
I hear different clicking noises, like it is trying to heat up throughout this process. Can I just fix it, or should I just get a new one? I only got it as a gift back in August 2007. Thanks for your help!
That is your thermostat going on and off. There is nothing wrong with your skillet. When it reaches the desired temp, the light goes off. When the temp drops, it will come back on.
