My toshiba equium a200 starts up when u press up the power button but then automaticly turns off. do u have any idea what is wrong with it? i thought it was dead so i put in the charger also but it does the same thing

try this: remove your battery and plug directly to the main power w/out battery. second remove thebattery press and hold the power button for ten seconds and put the battery back and power on your laptop.

Hi, just thought I'd let you know that when I got my Toshiba Equium 200-1V0 it was supplied with the User's Manual A210 Series. The manual is just basic and does not go into full depth of how to clean out heat sink etc. The problem you described regarding the shutting down is most probably that the heat sink is clogged up with dust and needs to be cleaned. Toshiba has a lot of laptops (different models) with this problem. I had the same problem with Toshiba A200-1V0 and have now got the same problem with the Toshiba A300D-20R which is only 6 months old! On the A200-1V0 I managed to hoover the bottom of the laptop where the fan is and it worked fine, but with the A300D-20R it has not worked, but fortunately it's still under guarantee so I will be sending it back to Toshiba to do it. Try replacing the battery, the cells seems to have died.

try taking the hard drive out then switch it on without it then switch it back off, put the hard drive back in then it should work, if not try f8 then safe mode and do a system restore

Remove the power adapter and the battery. Hold the power button in for up to 60 seconds to discharge the laptop. Try starting it again.

Make sure you have the latest drivers, router and NB.

Does it connect on reboot with the SSID off?

Does it work on repair?

if so, check your energy settings, some times they power down the wireless to save energy. There are also settings on how it behaves.
