My nuvi 2505 charges on AC but not auto DC what is the problem both cords are good?

Your Nuvi doesn't know or care if you have it plugged into AC or into your car. Most likely the car charging cord is indeed bad, perhaps at the plug where it goes into the car. I've had exactly that problem with mine. Got a replacement car cord, and it's fine now.

My sky caddie sg5 won't charge thru the usb or power cord...any ideas???

Hello there,
Since you have tried charging the device using the usb and the power cord. It is quite clear to know that the problem is from the device connection port. It is bad and need to be replaced.
But you need to Try to test the battery in other devices then try to charge it there to see if it will hold a charge. If the battery holds a charge there, then it means the battery is okay and if it does not charge. Then it means the problem is from the battery. It need to be replaced if so.
Then test the charger/ power cord on another device if it is not bad, then you test the usb cable also. After running these test. You will be clear to know if it is the connection port. Then replace the connection port once confirmed to be the problem. Hope this helped. Goodluck Elect_Comp

I have a Garmin Nuvi 755T. I noticed that the unit was not charging via the car charger. I checked the charger and noticed that the green light was on. I also pulled the fuse and checked it and it is...

found female jack on the 755 mount where the car charger pluges into the GPS was not securely soldered onto ckt bd so after multiple times pulg in or unpluging the unit or just stressing the connection the fine wire conncetions (about 12) tend to break forcing the unit to operate on battery mode untill battery is discharged. you an purchase a replacement GPCCradle Holder compatible with Garmin Nuvi on Amazon GPS Cradle Holder Compatible with Garmin Nuvi for about $20

The check engine warning light is on but the car is running fine.

Hi,

Most of times check engine light indicates there is a problem with catalytic converter.

Converters don't fail on their own. Converter failure is usually an indication of a larger problem. For instance, a faulty fuel injector can inject too much fuel into an engine. This raw fuel will make its way to the converter, causing the converter to overheat. Left unchecked, this overheating will melt the brick in the converter, rendering the converter useless.
There are a number of additional reasons for converter failure, and a variety of common engine management components that should be checked when replacing a converter.

I hope this information helps.

Garmin street pilot 330 charging problem

Linda,

You need to check the fuse for both the car's cigar lighter AND the one in the GPS power plug (that goes into the cigar lighter outlet). Both must be good for the GPS to charge and power up.

I don't know if your friends cord worked in you car - or hers - so you're going to have to find out if it is the cord fuse or the car fuse. Since her cord worked on your GPS, start by using HER CORD connected to YOUR GPS in both cars. If it works in her car, but not in yours, check & replace your car's cigar lighter fuse. If or when it works in both cars, disconnect her cable and connect your cable to your GPS again. Connect into your cigar lighter. If it works, you're done. If it doesn't work, disassemble the plug at the end of the GPS cord (cigar lighter end) and check and replace the fuse if blown. You should be good to go at this point.

Please rate this reply if found to be helpful - good luck!

The Garmin 265wt is useless, you try to get to an intersection and the unit shuts down< any one out there with a solution?>>

I can help you reset and fix your Garmin Nuvi 265WT.

Not starting or shutting down, getting stuck on the flashing Garmin logo, or a message about not finding any maps, are indications that the firmware / system software inside your GPS has been corrupted.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi 265WT running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin 265WT WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

DO NOT SEND TO A GARMIN REPAIR SHOP. I went through several iterations of piss poor service with them wanting an exceptional amount of money. I tore the unit apart (very easy), carefully pulled the LCD connector, wiped with rubbing alcohol, and replaced. I did my best at resealing the unit again, and it works perfectly. Took half an hour of my time and cost nothing.

Garmin's customer service people were polite but useless, but their repair depot subcontractor were useless and jerks!

Keeps turning off

Your power cord is cutting in and out. You either have a bad power cord or there is something wrong with the connection to the cigarette lighter. When the unit say "Running on battery - will turn off in 30 seconds" this mean that it has lost external power. This is by design so that when you shut off the engine external power is cut to the unit and that it will shut down.

It a shame that for the C330 Garmin decided to remove the LED light from the power cord that shows the power cord is connected correctly to the cigarette lighter.
