Make sure there's batteries in it
Turn "Hold" off
and press and hold Play for a few seconds.

Hold down the "Play" Button and this also turns it off.
If you hold down the M button that gives you a menu and acts as the "enter" button. The play button is the "back" button and the left and right scroll is that scrolls.
