Check the fuses and let me know, as they may have been burned due to a surge when the power went out. Unplug the set then check the fuse.

they will be right next to where the power cord enters the circuit board, some models have two and others have only one. They will be small glass fuses Cylinders others are white clynders. Be sure to unplug the power cord before removing the fuse they just lift up out of the fuse holders.

Tv wont turn on the red light is on but will not turn on by power button on tv or remote

my tv has the same problem. I found if you unplug the TV for a couple of days, then plug it back in, it should work. The tv will also do this whenever there is a power failure or if you unplug the tv to use the outlet for another device.

Tv wont power up or come on

Ensure the power outlet is ok and if on doubt, check the TV on some other. If it does not work, the TV has some blown fuses or other board/component failures.

Wont turn on stand by light just blinks

It seems TV microcomputer has blocked, you could try disconnecting TV from AC power outlet about 5 minutes, this should reset micro's memory, if doesn't there's possibly a hardware failure.

My samsung tv wont turn back on

First make sure it is not the outlet. Plug it somewhere else that has a good outlet. Did you know that electronic device has the highest failure rate when it is brand new? This diminish dramatically then the failure rate goes up again as the device gets old. Mechanical things are diffrent because they have the high failure rate only when they are old because of wear and tear. Electronic device do not have moving part. Most of the early failure rate on electronic device are due to defective component or manufacturing errors.

Sharp TV LC37D40U Aquos malfunction. It fails to turn on (no picture, no sound) except that power button light blinks off and on continuously. Any ideas. Thanks.

The blinking light is a indicator of a internal failure, it usually blinks as an error code, I have two suggestions, unplug the TV from the power outlet and let it set for at least 30 minutes not plugged into the wall outlet, then plug it back in and see if it has returned to factory defaults and returned to normal operation, if that didn't work then contact sharp @ 1-800-237-4277 and they will gladly assist you. Good luck !

RCA 36695BC wont turn on

I'm afraid this failure is not just a fuse failure in your TV since you still can hear the relay clicking. This fix might not be a DIY.
Where can I send you additional info on what could be wrong with your TV?

TV wont turn on due to power outage

I know it's been a while since you have sent this request, but if you havn't gotten any help or repaired the set by now, I'll try to help if I can. Your set has a seperate power supply board internally. The fuse could be burned out on that board. Also if you did in fact get a power surge, you may have a capacitor or a series of capacitors bad. Check the fuse first and if this is not the problem, I suggest you replace the power supply board as they are not real expensive. Good luck and I hope this has helped in some way
