Check the fuses and let me know, as they may have been burned due to a surge when the power went out. Unplug the set then check the fuse.

they will be right next to where the power cord enters the circuit board, some models have two and others have only one. They will be small glass fuses Cylinders others are white clynders. Be sure to unplug the power cord before removing the fuse they just lift up out of the fuse holders.

** TV won't turn on.** No picture or sound. Please Help !

If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First, try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there. You are simply switching. If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.

65 inch rca scenium will not turn on, what steps should i take or try to get it to turn on. Please help i know nothing about tvs

Your power supply is most likely faulty. Very common especially in newer tv's. I would call around and get quotes from a few different people first. Unless you want to order a service manual and try to test for the faulty capacitor or resistor in the power supply and replace it yourself.

Won't turn on

Hi Bertacox,

How are you doing? Here are few suggestions you can take to iron out the problem. Make sure you have power getting to the set. Check the outlet and the power cord, etc. Should be some light on the front panel. If not, you are not getting power to the set.

If it has power and will not activate at all it is likely there is a massive power supply failure. If the protection circuit has kicked in you should get a clicking noise when the power switch is activated.

In any event, RCA sets are not the most reliable in the marketplace and you must decide if you want to fix or replace. The minimum cost of repair will be $200 plus the house call. It may be much more. Set is only five years old - which is young for a big screen, but old for a small crt set. So, you will have to decide, but if it were me and I had the resources in the bank I would go for a new wide screen digital receiver and really enjoy some good video!

Mitsubishi TV WD-62527 will not turn on

Hi there, this is most commonly known as power board failure in the industry. the capacitors are blown. if you are experienced in inspecting circuit boards this will be helpful. you will have to disassemble and pull the power board and preform a break point test. the bown capacitors are easily picked out. they will be swollen and discolored. If you are not comfortable with disassembling this set, i suggest a service call. just tell the tech you are experiencing a power board failure.

No power no picture no sound

i would say that its time to put that tv to rest is it a projection tv? if it is then it may be the bulb but i would recomend just getting a new set because repairing your current one will cost alot and wont last long so a new one is a better option

This happened to ours and it was a fan failure. TV would not turn on since the fan was not working. Once the fan was replaced, the problem was solved. When you try to turn the set on, the red lights blink a code, which will tell a tech what's wrong. Good luck.

Panasonic pt-53wX42, power wont stay on. Turn on, no picture then it will turn off by itself after 5 seconds. The red power button will flash on and off until I unplug unit and start the whole process...

I'm no expert, but I'd start by taking a "VERY GOOD LOOK" w/magnifing glass if possible , @ UR Wall Outlet Power Cord. Change to different wall outlet. Ur Power Cord "should" just pull right out of the back of your TV. If nothing in those places, then take off back panel (or part where power cord plugs into TV & AGAIN inspect area around where power cord attached for, yeah, that's right, the dreaded black area around plug-in area. Maybe it's just a bent prong. Any other funny things going on that U didn't mention here? Good Luck Leonard aka

Power shut off

Theres an STR##### IC in the power supply thats intermittant and this is a very very common problem Im surprised the repairman didnt know this. Tell them to look it up on the schematic and come to your house and replace it. Most repairers wont do this in the house because they cant get the same money but in my opinon it shouldnt take more then an hour too do. Good luck Ps the ###### in the STR number are differant on differant models.
