SOURCE: Code F1 @ Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer

An F1 is almost always a defective main control board. Could try unplugging the unit for a few minutes and see if it will reset. The part # for the board is W10110072. Sears sells it for $119.46 http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=WFW8300SW01&productCategoryId=0153200&brandId=1198&modelName=RESIDENTIAL-WASHER&diagramPageId=00003&componentDescription=CONTROL%20PANEL%20PARTS&documentId=W0607261&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool duet washer lights flash/beep

probably your door then, look at the door itself, at the latch is it broken? should form a complete square hole with four sides. if broken some part is probably inside lock asm. if complete, look at lock and determine if its in the lock position with door open, a arm will be up preventing the latch from going in. replace as necessary. Old duets (red lights) use standard lock asm same as GE and samsung. New duets (green lights) use whirlpool/new maytag unique asm. New locks come in two interchageable models, German (made in china) and Mexican, Mexican model is more troublesome, get german.
If lights flash during a cycle or other time, its giving a code, note the F code displayed

This is a pretty easy repair to do and all you need to do is open up the door and go around the outer lip of the bellows gasket and find the retaining loop that holds the front edge onto the front cabinet panel. Look for the locking loop and carefully remove it. I find that a couple of pairs of small needle nose pliers work well, just be careful not to bend the retaining wire loop, as you'll need to reuse this when you put the new bellows gasket on.

Here's a line drawing that shows your washer model and the parts involved, to help make this a bit easier to understand and so you can see what you're going to do.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=WFW8300SW01&productCategoryId=0153200&brandId=1198&modelName=RESIDENTIAL-WASHER&diagramPageId=00002&componentDescription=DOOR%20AND%20LATCH%20PARTS&documentId=W0607261&backToLink=Return%20to%20subcomponent%20list

Once you've got the outer lip retainer off, you'll be able to roll back the gasket off the front panel mounting lip and get to the rear hose clamp. It's basically a giant diameter hose clamp like you'd find on your car's radiator, etc. You'll need a small socket or nut driver to remove this clamp (usually it's either a 1/4" or 5/16" but sometimes it's a larger 3/8" size.

Loosen it and remove it carefully and you can now remove the entire bellows gasket.

When you go to install the new one, you'll want to make sure that you line up the water inlet section properly (if your's has this design, so do, some don't). Be careful not to rip or tear the gasket when putting it on the outer tub and when you tighten up the clamp. Take your time and don't rush this, as you don't want to be doing it again, as these gaskets aren't cheap!

Once you've got the rear of the gasket on, you can then carefully and gently start pulling the front lip onto and over the outer front cabinet. It helps to have help in holding the starting point onto the lip while you continue installing the rest of the bellows gasket onto the cabinet lip.

Once you've got the entire gasket on the front cabinet and you're sure it's on the lip all the way around the panel. You can then reinstall the retaining wire loop.

Now you're done and can give it a try, as you've just likely saved yourself about another $150-175 bill by not having to have a service tech come out and do the job for you!

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Whirlpool Duet Sport Model WFW8300SW0 basket won't

The following list of codes indicates an electronics communication problem with the washer: - Duet HT washer - F01, F03, F06, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32, F35, F42, F61, F62, F63, F64, F65, F70, F71, and F99

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

I would first replace the door latch/lock assembly, a number of users have and it fixed the F-11 error code completely. Its the cheapest part for this problem.

Hope helps.

Un-plug the washer to reset the ccu. If still in error, open the top and check the connections of all the plugs going into the ccu. Post back on your findings.

Door locked & nothing happens Whirlpool duet wfw8300sw01

hi there,

sounds like the machine has no power at all.

there was no need to break the lock.

unplug the machine
take off the console
check connections from the touchpad to the CCU board
make sure nothing is corroded, burned, bent or pinched
unplug and replug the wiring harness
plug the machine back in and try it again.

let me know if this works.

Error Code F01

Hi there, After about year and half Whirlpool duet sport gave F01 error code. The technician manual is located under the lower front panel. There are three possible reasons for F0: 1) EEPROM ERROOR. Unplug a washer for two minutes. Try running it again. (Did not work for me). 2) MAIN RELAYS ERROR. The tech manual suggests replacing CCU. The following is what I did and it fixed the problem, however. Unplug the washer. Remove the top cover by removing the three screws on the back. The CCU unit is in the right bottom corner if standing in front of the washer – it has a lot of wiring. Plug in the unit. While listening to the CCU start any washing cycle. After pressing START you should hear the relay to click. If it clicks twice, within a less than a second, it has a problem. Unplug the washer. Without disconnecting any wires remove the CCU cage from the washer wall. Stand now on the right hand side of the washer in such way that the CCU cage is under your left hand. Pull the right upper corner of the CCU plastic cage (it has a tab) away from you, slide the cage to the right by about an inch, and pull the entire cage away from you. Now knock on the back side of the cage 4-5 times with a bit of force (watch “Armageddon” movie for more instructions on it). Install the CCU cage back. Plug in the unit. Try some washing cycle again. If it did not help, repeat the procedure. If it did not work again, see the following. 3) PUMP DRIVE ERROR. The tech manual suggests replacing CCU.

Sears units) have diffrent codes so if you post the model number i can see where the problem lies also if you need to open the door there is an Emgcy. door release it is located behind the lower panel you will need to remove the 3 #10 torks screws the panel will come off reach up below the door latch assby you will see a tear drop plastic tab pull on it and it will release the door
