if fault is not on remote , you may need to bring down the ceiling fan and check on stuck electrical contacts and sensors to fix the problem.

Need to program Hampton Bay Ceiling fan remote control CHO88T7030T, HELP!

Change the battery. This is the first step when troubleshooting a ceiling fan remote. The easiest fix to any remote control problem begins with battery replacement. A 9-volt battery is needed to operate all Hampton Bay ceiling fan remotes.

Check the light switch used for the ceiling fan. The light switch found on the wall must be in the "on" position. This allows the ceiling fan to be operated by remote control

Re-program your remote. If battery replacement fails to get your remote working again, try to reprogram the remote. Open the battery cover you will see 4 dip switches. These switches must be set to the same position as the receiver on the fan. Use the screw driver to move the dip switches either up or down.

Follow the previous step to change the frequency if the ceiling fan is randomly turning on or off. Other electronic devices such as garage door openers can interfere with the ceiling fans receiver, causing it to randomly turn on or off.

The remote on my Hunter ceiling fan (Model: 27185 - 060) does not activate the ceiling fan. I can turn the light on manually, but not the ceiling fan. I cannot see the antenna on the ceiling fan.

The first thing you need to do, is change the battery(s) in the hand held remote, as well as the battery(s) in the receiver inside the fan's cowling. Weak batteries will limit a remotes operation.
And, FYI - there is no antenna on the ceiling fan.

I hope this helps you. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Reiker ceiling fan - does not turn on - theres is power to unit - maybe remmote is bad? how do i change code

Before trying to change the code, have you tried changing the batteries? Both in the hand held remote and the one in fan housing? If so, and that didn't help, make sure the batteries are turned in the right direction and fitting tightly.

Will the fan operate without using the remote control?

Hello nita... I believe the fact that the remote stopped working is due to a weak battery in the remote. Change that battery and you should be back up and running. Joe

The remote controls the fan speed but wont dim or control the light. the unit wont work if the light switch is off so I cant use the fan at all unless the light is turned on

mcdevito75 here, Generally the Ceiling fan motor is hooked up by-passing the wall switch but still to the hot laed going to the wall switch whlie the lights are hooked up to the hot lead after the wall switch, So without the remote, Manually operate your fan and lights. First with the wall switch off the fan should work and the lights no work. Now turn the fan off with the pull chain on the fan shroud close to the ceiling. Now turn wall switch on and lights should work with wall switch and the fan should also work. if so, re-program the remote or change the batteries or even re--place the remote.

Remote controlled ceiling fan has mind of it's own.

I have the same fan. The fan and the remote have some "jumpers" which allow you to change the codes, useful if someone else nearby has the same fan. You can see the jumpers inside the remote, open the back cover... you'll see "4 3 2 1" on the circuit board. Unfortunately you'll need to dismount the fan to change its jumpers, they need to be the same as the jumpers in your remote (which you can move around pretty easily).

Remote not working at all

Check the fan and the remote to see the code switches are same. Sometimes depending on the age and humidity you may have to slide the switches back and forth to clean the contacts. Did it ever work? Are the batteries in the proper polarities? The fan and remote have to have the same numbers picked to operate properly.

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
