Just bought a Nikon Coolpix S8100. After recording video, it looks perfect on the camera display. After uploading it to my computer, the video appears more like a slide show. The sound comes through perfectly, but the video freezes.

10 replace batteries or recharged very well the batteries.
2) clean very well the contacts batteries from oxide, dust, dirty. or corrosion
3) batteries loaded in WRON direction
4) batteries is NOT the right type
5) poor contact between battery and cover , clean and adjust it .
6) Memory card slot/battery covert is open

I have had mine for over 3 years and this just started happening. I bought a new battery and it seemed to fix the problem for about a week but is doing it again. It seems like it won't fully charge now like it formerly did!

Return the camera right away, it is clear this is a manufacture defect, nothing more can be done.

The 7960 works with SD cards. It does not work with SDHC cards such as your 4GB card.

SD cards max out at 2GB. While SDHC cards are physically identical, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them.

Is your card a class 6 or faster? That's what you need for uninterrupted videos.
