Streaky printing & too much magenta

Hi,
My HP 5740, is printing streaky and has a magenta/pink cast to it.
I cleaned the heads and calibrated it via the utility link.
Before I did anything it painted EXTREMELY faint/light and mainly pink/lavender.
I checked the cartridge levels... black was at 6 BARS..The Color bar was VERY SLIGHTLY below the 2nd bar from the problem. Is that my problem?
I don't want to replaced the color cartridge if there is still ink in it.. esp. if that is NOT the problem.

I know how expensive they are I really do how old and is this printer used alot and is the colors being used alot?
Even Streaks in the full paint job that happened to me too! I went hi and lo in adobe and found that the low ink was the problem
35 and 15 geesh and photo paper lost in this mess. It was my problem and now I share it with you so the trade off yea it is all your's sorry good luck

The printed pages are coming out really streaky. We have tried cleaning it, but no joy. Any advice?

Print a few pages. As they are printing open the cover. Remove the toner cartridge. Look down at the page that was being printed. If it is not "streaky" look at the fuser, it probably needs replacing.

If that page is "streaky" replace the toner cartridge.

Okidata C5200N printer: streaky copies on magenta

If the streaks are only from the magenta then your magenta drum is bad. If you recently replaced it, it may still be under warranty.

This happened to me. It was caused by a bad "oki compatable" color cartridge. One time it ruined my drum. It was always the yellow color. Decide which cartridge is printing streaky. Remove it, bang it on the inside of a large plastic garbage can. Clean it. Reinstall it . If it still prints streaky throw it befor you ruin the drum. Replace it.

Does not print correct colours and is streaky printer

ink cartridges not compatible with printer properly and these need calibration from pc.
secondly ink primer section is fill with waste ink needs cleaning

HP CP1700 prints wrong colors with streaky horizontal lines. I have run the clean utility ten times and still have same problem. Where are the printer heads and how can I remove them to clean manually?

your printer heads is built-in in your cartridge.... if that printer prints wrong colors your using refill ink....
