Digitech RP-5 Effects unit

How do I reboot the unit

The volume control and mute button do not work on all source selections, including built-in tuner of my Araogon Stage One sound surround preamp. Strangely, I am able to control the volume of one source connected to the Aragon Stage one, but only one. I have repeatedly un-pluged the unit from the rear but have the same results

Hi slamher

Here is the RP-5/6 hard reset procedure:
1. Press/hold the Value [UP] button while applying power to the unit
2. When the display says rst, release the button
3. Press the program [UP] button

It will delete all you patches and presets, but I figure that is what you are looking to do. Riff on \m/

Flashing 88

I think there is nothing wrong with it, it flashes probably because you still not confirm that "8" bank of effects is selected. When it blinks showing the number you just press the selector (the same you use to select what effect you want) once and it should stay on.

I have a GK Backline 600 bass amp with an intermittent pre amp problem. Sometimes it works fine then starts distorting. One odd thing i've noticed when I shut it down, about 7 seconds later the clip light...

This is not a problem with dirty components. There is a semiconductor inside that is sensitive to heat and is failing. This unit should be taken to a service shop before complete failure. It has the potential for frying the output section depending upon the part that fails.

Please seek professional assistance with this repair.

My line 6 flextone III keeps cutting out while I'm playing. The sound returns when I turn my effects nob back and forth between sounds.

these things tend to happen if the power supply is inadequate or if some bad capacitors are draining power. anyway try bossting the mains supply using a step up stabilizer unit. If that dont work i suggest u get ur unit chekced by a qualified tech. or if there's a warranty get it replaced by a new one.

Crate VTX 200s has mind of its own (random effects)

i am afraid u have dry solders on the digital switching section. u know bad soldering. cracked soldering, etc. slight shaking, like guitar sound from speaker shakes the dry solder creating voltage fluctuations and statics haunting the switching section. resoldering should solve it.
i once had a coffee machine that brews just by slapping it! :-) culprit - dry solder.
the effects working indicates ur equipment is ok.
if u cant do it urself ask a tech to just resolder the dry solders.

Crate gtx 65 guitar amp mains hum

I had the same problem on my VTX65. I noticed it would oscillate with different effects so I removed the effects module. Problem solved. Now it's dead quiet. I use a Digitech RP500 so removing the effects module was a non issue.

Problem sounds like micro-processor in erratic. Unplug unit for 24 hours then try again. If this does not remedy, problem is in processor, take in for service
