I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0 mouse. it just stops randomly. i can shake it,flip it ,blow it, spin it,twirl it ,change the batteries, hit the sync buttons and it wont move the cursor...

I had the same problem and it was driving me insane - then while troubleshooting the problem I noticed that the bluetooth support service was disabled. I started the service and set the startup type to automatic - that solved the problem for me - no more freezes!!!

Logitech Mouseman Driver Does Not Automatically Load At Startup

Try troubleshooting your mouse here. You may also need to UPDATE your drivers. Also try changing the USB input. Plug it into a different one.

Hope this helps :)

if you are using windows xp it does have some problems. update your copy of windows using windows update, or remove too many programs on startup and/or reinstall your mouse driver if it includes one.

Mouse freezes

If it is wireless try putting in some new batteries and moving the receiver to a different USB port. You could also try moving or disabling any other wireless equipment nearby to see if that could be causing it.

If it is a wired mouse try a different USB port, making sure it is plugged in directly rather than into a USB hub, re-installing the driver and rebooting the PC. With more information I could help further.

How do i install a mouse on windows98 without original startyup disks

For installing a generic mouse you need not to use any startup disk.
1. Make shutdown your pc.
2. Connect your mouse.
3. Boot your pc.

A message will be display by window that new hardware found, (if your mouse hardware is differ from previous mouse), and window will install the required driver for your mouse.

Thanks
Iqbal
