Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii - Just stopped Working.

Wanting to play my wii one morning, I noticed that it wouldn't turn on. I tried a different plug, and changed the fuse... but nothing. Still didn't turn on. Everything connected to the extension socket stopped working in the same way, except the TV.

I have tried to play the wii in different plug sockets but still... doesn't work.

But this is what gets me... The wii was in NO WAY connected to its AC adapter. No electricity must have been going through it. So I Don't know whats wrong, either its the Adapter that powers the wii that may be broken, or the actual Wii itself.

Ahh, but the LED light won't even turn on. Although I may think that its a AC adapter thats the problem...

We went on vacation for 4 days. When we came home, the red light was off and the Wii willnot power on. Unplugged everything for 5 mins, nothing, unplugged everything for over night, nothing, pressed the power and reset buttons for 1 min as well as 30 seconds nothing. It is plugged into a surger protector with the tv and the tv is fine.

I puchased off line back in november and no idea where I got it from or who to contact. What do you reccommend?

Thats what I thought, and I have ordered a Non-official Nintendo Product, as they don't have a nintendo store in the EU. (Atleast I think so.)

Hopefully, if it works, I'll let you guys know, and this problem may be solved.

We just got our Wii for cristmas in 2008, and after two months, it doesn't work. It rained one day, and the power went out for a few seconds about three times. I don't know if we had a surge protector, but the T.V. and everything else works. Tried many ways, but didn't turn on. Wii contains the Ocarina of Time: Master Quest in the CD-drive.

I went to play my wii the other day and I noticed the red LED wasn't even on. I checked to make sure the surge protector was on, and it was. I haven't tried moving the console to a different room yet, but Ill try that next. If ANYONE could help, PLEASE do! Thanks!

I had the same problem here. Found out that the power supply has a built in fuse and is real sensitive to small electrical spikes. I replace power supply under store warranty.

Hello
Possible the outlet its plugged into is bad or a blown breaker.Try plugging in something else like a lamp to make sure.
Another problem could be the power supply to the wii is no good.

Wii stopped working . We played it before bed one night and the next morning there was no light on the system and it would not turn on. We have unplugged everything and plugged it all back in...still...

This probably didn't happen, but my guess is that, when the sudden power was restored, the Wii console took too much and fried the circuts. This can happen on on computers, but I'm not sure about gaming consoles. This can be prevented with a surge protector, a device with several power outlets and a switch for power protection. If the warranty on your Wii is still present (I think it lasts 1-4 years) you can send it in to Nintendo for repairs (or if they can't repair it, they'll send you a brand new one).

Wii will not power up at all. My son was playing it the night before and the next morning the console would not come on at all. Tried different plug-in, disconnected and reconnected it, but it still didn't...

i suspect that there is a problem with the AC adapter that supplies power to the device. The fuse in the adapter is busted, you can't fix it yourself as the fuse should be replace by an expert. I suggest you to buy a new adapter,it may cost $9.43.

The electricity went off this morning...Now the Wii console power won't turn on....

Confirm the wii is plugged in (wall and wii side); if the wii is plugged into a power strip, confirm the power strip is plugged in, and that any on/off or fuse switch on the strip is set to on (may have been tripped during power surge/outage); unplug the wii for 15 minutes (seriously, 15 minutes), then plug it back in and try again.

Wii won't turn on

I called the Wii 800 number, and it said to unplug the a/c adapter from the wall and the unit for 2 minutes, and this resets it, it fixed mine.
