Have you tried AVG? It is a free anti-virus software.

By the sounds of it "2008 xp antivirus" is a virus. The people who make these viruses often choose names to trick users into downloading their viruses.

The best free anti virus program you can get is one called Avast Anti Virus. You can download it from download.com easily and use it to scan your computer and remove any threat. Another good application is called spybot search and destroy. This detects and removed spyware and malware. You can get this from the same place.

It may not be a virus. It sounds more like a bad case of spyware. You may want to download, install, update, and run something like Malwarebytes AntiMalware. It sounds pretty serious, so it may need the attention of a PC technician to fully remove the infection.

Hope this helps!

I don't think you have a virus, Norton 360 is a very good antivirus program and would have caught it. Try disabling all of the Norton 360 features then load the Windows XP disc. Sometimes anti-virus programs interfere with the processs. I am assuming you have the Windows XP original disc. This should work.

I HAVE A STRONG VIRUS IN MY COMPUTER

Your antivirus may be corrupted by the virus, or it has not this virus on the latest update

First install an antivirus, update it to latest version , and try doing a full scan: AVG Free - Download AVG

If the antivirus is not enough use an antimalaware that removes more viruses use this one: Spybot - Search & Destroy - Free software download , install, update, and perform a full system scan.

If that is still not enough, the best thing to do is doing a backup of your files, and reinstalling Windows.

Hi there my name is Alex and im here to help you with this problem

Is the antivirus that was downloaded called win antivirus 2008? This is a virus its self and causes many problems even to the desktop. What you can try doing is restarting your computer and running Safe mode by pressing F8 just before windows boots and selecting safe mode. Whilst in safe mode, the internet is not available and some drivers are disabled which means you should be able to uninstall any programs without problem

If you are experiencing problems downloading AVG updates using the internet, you can download the updates manually from this website http://free.avg.com/download Here you will find a basic guide of how to install this.

I hope this can be some assistance to you. If you experience any problems, please let me know

Trend Micro Antivirus/Vista Antivirus 2008

Hello there.

Unfortunately you have been infected, by the software called "Vista Antivirus 2008". What this software does is infect you, then prompt you to pay to remove the infection that it installed. So it is a scam.

What i would recommend is use the uninstall instructions from here http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/xp-antivirus-2008-removal-instructions-xp-antivirus-2008/spyware-removal

This will remove the infection (and others) from your system.

Once you have completed the steps, be sure to try an online scanner such as housecall here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
This will not conflict with your already-installed Trend Micro software, it mearly runs through your web browser.

On that note, Internet Explorer is not very safe for browsing the Internet with, i would recommend either Firefox or Opera for a safer/better browsing experience.

Hope this helps.

You may need to reinstall your operating system. this happens when a virus, something called w32. jini.recko^lok affcts the system.

you may also try to install an antivirus program which is up to date, to scan your system. But the bad news is that once this trojen affects your system most of the antiviruses are not successfully installed. The winodws installer service is locked or terminated by this trojen.

best thing to do is to recover and backup your data to any other disk. and repartition your disk and format and reinstal it.
