Question about ASUS M2N-E SLI (M2N-E SLI GREEN) Motherboard

M2N- SLI Deluxe Motherboard won't power-up

My home built computer with ASUS motherboard has worked great for over a year now, however, I think my graphics card (GE Force 8800GTX) took out my PSU. I replaced the PSU, removed the graphics card and the green light is on the motherboard, but I cannot get the system to turn on when I press the power button. Both ATX plugs are in. Any ideas???

Thx in advance, Scott

Thanks Dos9, If I replace the mother board, is it likely that the CPU and RAM were taken down as well. Guess I'd like to know what is most likely failure point, the CPU or the motherboard...

    Thanks!

Same problem with M2N-SLI Deluxe ... Works fine for over a year, then the RAID 0 (stripe) failed on me, so I stopped using RAID. Now pressing the power-switch won't turn on the computer unless I power off the power supply at the back, then turn it back on and power up the computer as normal. I cannot see how this cannot be a motherboard issue... sigh... losing faith in Asus mobo.

Look for blown capacitors. Check this site for example pics.

Try reseating the power cable to your HDD and also the data cable to and from your motherboard. If no joy - then it sounds to me like a power supply unit failure

Not working 3-pin

Hello ota_cech:

I think you are trying to say that the 3 fans are NOT working.

If that is the case, try this.

remove them all from the board.

try only one fan in the plug.

I think what you are trying to say is that the three external fans are not working from the mother board...if that is the case....

Try by elimination one fan at a time, one may be bad.
Also that plug may be bad as something may have happened to make it have no power.
thanks,

Hi tbird, yes you can run the 8800 GT's even if the interface is 1.0
The 8800 GT is back wards compatible to the 1.0
Suggest you install the latest software drivers for the 8800 GT.

It wouldn't hurt to add a case fan to feed the two cards fresh air.

Good luck!

Asus motherboard M2N-E will not power up

It could be a memory card too. I would start by pulling the memory cards and see what happens.

Is there a connection on the motherboard for your hard drive?
