Motorola PEBL U6 keypad died (by 3 users)

When I took it to a repair store here in Atlanta, i was told that "I've been repairing cell phones for 12 years, and I see this problem all the time. When a PEBL is unlocked, it creates a softwre problem that makes the keypad eventually die, and if I put in a new keypad it'll die too."
Has anyone else heard this before, it was the first I'd heard of it.

when i open my mobile the keypad doesn't ligth and it create me some diffuculty to use i in darkness please help me

impossible to send text messeges phone freezez and wont turn off
