Question about Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 3000

2 Answers

I have a Microsoft wireless desktop 3000 v2.0 keyboard and wireless mouse 5000 bundled together, using the same USB receiver. Both the mouse and keyboard have stopped working. I plug the receiver into any USB port and the computer does not even recognize that something has been plugged in. I have tried installing the drivers on my newly re-installed windows 7 system with no luck. I have also tried the set on three different computers and it has not worked on any of them. It seems like the receiver is the problem. Is there anything else I can try or do? Help would be appreciated!

There are little connection buttons on the mouse, keyboard, and sometimes the reciever, press those.

Replace the batteries with new ones.

I have already tried replacing the batteries and there are no re-sync buttons on the receiver, mouse, or keyboard that I can find.

Call Microsoft parts replacement 800-360-7561 and tell them what happened and they will help you. You will need to get the Product ID from the back of the keyboard: 01036-545-7152051-01006. It is not possible to get the USB transceiver separately.

SOURCE: Hi I have a Microsoft

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Basically receivers are bundled with the mouse they have specific model of recievers. What i can suggest is you contact 1-877-696-7786 (Microsoft Store)f or a compatible model of nano reciever that will work witht the mouse and keyboard that you have so that you will not waste money on buying a reciever that will not work with your KBM.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3000 and i cant get it to connect. i have pushed every connect button in everyway i can think of and it still wont work

There are two possible reasons for this.
1. You may be having an issue with your USB receiver. The receiver may be not be seated properly in the USB slot or the slot you've plugged it into isn't working well with your receiver. Try moving the receiver to a couple of different USB ports and try reconnecting.
2. Your mouse may not be operating correctly. I think the simplest reason for this is that the battery is dead, which is extremely common when using wireless keyboards/mice. Check to make sure the batteries are fully charged.

Pairing code for Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

Not really a code, just first press button on top of your receiver and then the button on the bottom of the mouse. The receiver LED should stay green when they are connected. If this does not happen check that you are using IntelliPoint Mouse Software. See more:

I have the same system. Mouse can be ordered, but not easily. Make sure mouse is not working.... i almost made tour same mistake. In my case, the mouse plug (from computer to wireless receiver) had become unhooked. All i could see is that mouse was communicating with wireless receiver but appeared to be frozen. If you can reset receiving channel, and see that receiver acknowledges presence of mouse, you may have my same problem. Also, if you can see that the laser light is working, mouse is probably ok, and batteries are good.
