Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Dns error 80710102

Earlier this month i got my PSN working after 6 or so hours fiddling around on forums trying to fix it. i finally got it working by resetting everything and re-entering my ip address..

the next day i went away on holidays to return 4 days later (10th june) to find out my younger sister did something to it and now it wont connect.

i tried everything i did last time, i even asked my boyfriend to look at it and he didn't know how to fix it.

i phoned playstation, and they said ring my service provider n get mac filtering turned on, so i rang my SP, and they said they can't do that for me i have to get someone out to my home.

i didn't need it last time so why now?

i don't want to fork out even more money, so hopefully one of you might know how to fix it?!

it's driving me INSANE! quick replies would be much appreciated!

How do i solve the DNS error 80710102

It seems like the DNS error is generally caused by problems on your ISP's end of the network, but that doesn't mean you can't have a crack at fixing it yourself.

Under your network connection settings try changing the DNS servers to the following numbers (they're free by the way)

Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220

Also, try disabling media server connection as well. These simple steps should, in 90% of cases, fix the problem.

I've written a more in-depth guide to the causes of, and solutions to the DNS error- check it out here http://searchwarp.com/swa641197-Ps3-Dns-Error-80710102-Troubleshooting.htm
