Question about HP PhotoSmart C4180 All-in-One Color InkJet Photo Printer
Firstly ensure you have the relevant replacement cartridges.
Then turn on the printer.
Open the flap at the front of the printer.
The cartridges in the printer should move to the right hand side and stop (after a while). You will now have access to replace them. Take each cartridge in turn
pull it down - the cartridge should become loose -
then pull it to remove it.
Then to install the new cartridge put it in the same slot;
then push it up- it should click into place.
Repeat for the desired number of cartridges.
Please don't forget to rate.

Un-install the printer and download drivers from HP. This link will take you to "choose your operating system" at HP. These will be up to date and may solve your error message. Good luck. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1141647&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go%20»

Try to clean the place where you put the cartridges using a contacts cleaner, do the same with the cartridge.

Testimonial: "Thanks very much."
The ink cartridge is most likely chipped & you would not be able to reset the ink level. Purchase an original or a good compatible cartridge. Refiling newer cartridges is not a good idea.
