Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Problem with my PC.

Hello I own an HP Media Center m370n PC Desktop and about a year ago my desktop has had this strange problem. It will turn on and do the usualy sequance of loading but it won't load up to the welcome screen or to my desktop. It would always ask me if I wanted to return to a state to where it worked well and then restart but then it would just go back to the loading screen, not go to the welcome or desktop, and ask me the same question and this problem would repeat itself over and over again.

Should I get an XP installation disk and reformat me computer or is there anything else you could recommend that I could do?

Thanks. =]

Hey there, It sounds like you have lost your boot log. The answer to you question is yes you need to get a recovery disk. make sure when you run it that you repair the drive and not re-install xp or you will lose all of your programs and files. Have a great day.. Be mucho blessed..Mark

Clock not accurate

Hello,

If the clock keeps on getting out - dated, the most probable cause would be the CMOS battery. It is a small circular battery that is located on the motherboard that keeps the time and of your system up to date even when it is turned off. Replace the battery and it should work fine.

Cheers!

Media center m370n keeps rebooting in loop wont start says KERNEL32.DLL was not found

Sounds like you have a boot error on the hard drive. Time to get out your rescue discs and reload Windows. When reloaded run CHKDSK/F to clear any errors. If you can run CHKDSK/F before having to format your hard drive, that may save you a lot of time.

I have an HP media center pc the m370n, and i just upgraded to windows 7 ultimate. I can not get the tv tuner to work, what could be wrong? thanks. Ryan

think you'll find the drivers for the tuner are not compatible with windows 7. according to the hp website this is an xp machine. download the windows 7 compatibility checker from here to check http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1B544E90-7659-4BD9-9E51-2497C146AF15&displaylang=en
