Audio Cuts in And Out on CD

My model is actually the AVR 3808CD.

Whenever I select an audio only source surch as a CD and I turn the Display off, the audio cuts in for two seconds then out for two seconds

My display is connected by HDMI .

It is as if it is doing some kind of auto detection.

As soon as I turn the display back on, it stops doing it.
