Airlink router

worked fine until cable internet (Cox) was turned off for non-payment. when service restored, router will not send internet to computer. Have checked internet signal and ethernet wire, also is wireless but does not work either. Had to buy new router which works fine, but liked Airlink and don't think it is dead and would like to go back to it.

- Thanks, but the problem is the ROUTER, not the modem. and anyway, the same modem works fine with the new router I had to buy. how do I get the old router to work again, that was the question.

- Ok, I appreciate it. It is an AirLink 101 and it has both wired ports and wireless.

- Thank you so much, Mark. I haven't had time to try this but will over the long weekend and will let you know.

Albert the unfortunate problem with cable modems is the equipment serial number. when your modem is deactivated by the company the serial number becomes locked in other words they view the modem as a loss and the only way to re-activate it is by a different user not your account. I know it is a stupid way of doing things but they think it will stop cable theft.. Goofy huh.. Anyway have a great day.. Be mucho blessed... mark

- Hey albert I did some research and found out tha there is a generic problem with Airlink routers and some of the newer modems. I also talked to one of their techs, and this might do the job follow these steps.
1, You must do this procedure from a computer directly plugged in to your router at port #1.
2. Open your internet explorer and in the address bar at the top type in 192.168.1.1 this will bring you to the log in.
3.your login is (username...admin) (password...admin) this will put you in to your router.
4.Once in you have to go to the "firmware update" and download the latest update.
This should solve the problem if it does not let me know please.
Take care..Be mucho blessed
Mark
