How long should a Volvo xc90 blower motor and resistor last. I had one replaced at around 120k miles and now it need to be replaced again at 220k miles?

the motor will last just about for ever but the resistors are prone to burning out but 100.000 klms which equals to around 5 years is good for resistors
they are placed in the air flow in the motor housing and are cooled by the air flow but are subject to vehicle vibration
later models have done away with the resistors and use a module instead which seldom fails

According to you your machine's resistor burnt out. This resistor is located above the 240 volt capacitor which white base. change the resistor soon. For color code of the resistor you can follow the manual. You can visit also the product website for tech assistance.

Our Sharp AL 1631 copier has served us well for about 5 of the last 7 years or so. The last two years, copies are very very light - no matter what the settings, and there is always lots of loose toner...

As long as it is dirty inside the nachine, you will continue to have problems with copy quality' The light copies are from dust in your optics.

Basically, the machine needs aGOOD Cleaning, inside and out..Yes, it will cost you a service call, but that should clear up your issues. Be careful, and ask the tech/company what a good cleaning consists. Be srecific with describing your problems, like you did here.

Good Luck

P.S. if you have in house tech, let me know. I can tell them how to get into everything on the machine.

Double imagery, with a yellow bow at the top and bottom,

Look at attached photos and tell me if they look anything like your problem.

Convergence problems are common, this set most likely uses two of the STK-392-150 CHIPS (attached photo of typical chips) and they are 2.5 inches wide and about 1.5 inches tall with 18 pins each. They are mounted to heat sinks with fins and a white heat sink grease is applied to the back of each chip (back is metal) to transfer heat quickly.

After 5-8 years the grease dries out and one of the chips overheats and fails.

This can be a do it yourself repair and if purchased on EBAY a pair of the chips will cost less than 15 dollars (I use a seller there).

Repair consists of getting at chips and replacing them--sometimes they will damage a resistor around them--easy to spot and the resistors are easy to test.

Under 25 dollars total parts cost.

I can assist anyone with this repair and have done hundreds of them myself---based on actual experience I know what to do here.

if the photos or this information told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

2000 caravan, need location of rear ac blower switch resistor.

i had the same problem last year with the same model, what you need to change is the blower motor resistor/power module. this is located under the hood on the passenger side right on the core housing. i used a flat screwdriver to pull it out. you will get a better idea of the part to change when you get a new one. inspect the old one and for sure you will see that the wire type connection inside is burnt and or corroded. Enjoy !

Samsung rear projection tv smells

I would first suspect bad connections and/or a defective convergence IC. The burning is the current limiting resistors getting hot. I would stop using the set and get it repaired. Replacing the convergence ICs should have a pars cost in the $40-$60 range. The few resistors that should also be changed should only add a few $$ to the cost. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost. Also, request that the ICs be changed rather than the whole convergence board. It will be less expensive and won't require a complete convergence adjustment. Dan

The carb may be able to be rebuilt but those old *** carbs where not very good to start with. The Weber application is a great one and will last a very long time you can also get a kit for a holley if you want to get more performance. The engine in your truck will last forever as you already know but it will start leaking oil on the front side of the engine. When this happens the tech will try to replace the pan gasket but the problem will be the front main seal. When this happens have the tech change the timing chain at same time and you will save a fortune.

Pico/ Resistors what are these??

Pico means small and these look like little small resistors, but don't have stripes like resistors, just part numbers. They should measure as a dead short and be in the immediate vicinity of the STK's
