Question about Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop
Using an Optiplex GX 260, XP Pro, 2GB RAM
Started having problem with Quicken software which would randomly try to reinstall itself over the existing program. Spent LOTS of time trying to fix that, removing it, reinstalling it, etc, using the Quicken software to remove the software, using the Microsoft uninstall utility to check, and even checking the registry for any remaining remnants of Quicken.
OK, that led me to give up and buy a new copy of quicken which installed OK. But, I check the add/remove listing (just to double check that I had removed the old quicken) and I saw that the new quicken was used rarely and was last used in 2027!!!
Now I checked the system time is correct.
Any ideas what I'm facing?
I've seen this happen on PCs that have had some virus\spyware issues. Provided the Cmos battery is good, run an online virus scan. The other times I've come across this issue is from software that has it's activation cracked.
