Fan oven will not turn off can only isolate at switch on wall all other switches working

Hello Eamon;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

The identity number that you provided is not a model number. If you took it off your user manual it is not the model number.

I need your model number. It is located on a label on the face of your oven or on the side of your oven door.

Send me your model number so I can look at the wiring diagram.

Your oven fan runs for 2 reasons:
1.) To circulate the hot air in your oven.
2.) To vent the hot air in your oven when the heat is too hot.

Send me your model number so I can see what you have and help you.

Hi, the fan takes ages to get going - to start we have to turn on the oven, leave the door open and wait for up to 20 mins to get it going. What do you think this could be?

Hello. I need the make/model number to help you accurately. Most likely the fan(if this is the convection fan and *not* the ventilation fan) has become heat damaged--the heat from the oven overheats the bearings in the fan motor causing the metal to expand and the bearings to bind up over time. Also, I've seen cases where the fumes or hot moist vapors leaked through the hole in the oven wall for the fan shaft and re-condensed--dribbling sticky residue onto and into the motor, gumming it up. REMOVE THE POWER FIRST if you are going to remove the rear cover of the oven and expose the fan motor. The repair is not that hard to do--remove the convection fan cover(usually 2-3 screws). Hold the blade firmly(don't bend it) and unscrew the nut from the shaft--be careful though, *it might be a left-hand thread!*). After doing this, remove the rear cover from the oven, remove the 2-3 screws from the motor and replace it. A good practice is to make a diagram or *take pix* of everything, just in case there is wiring that must be relocated to get the motor out. I hope I helped you!

When I turn the oven on, there is a fan that comes on that sounds very noisy. It sounds like a vibration in the cooling fan. I'm wondering if simply swapping out the blower would take care of the noise? ...

yes this will work for you, but before you change out the fan motor make certain the fan blades are unobstructed and not rubbing against anything this can make quite a horrible noise as well.

Fan stays on long after oven is shut off in brand new viking daul fuel range. It's been on now for 45 minutes. All controls are on OFF.

loads of ovens do this. It's a pain, especially if you eat in the kitchen. If you switch the appliance off and on at the wall it usually stops it. Why the fan stays on, god knows. pointless.

Amana range -the oven does not work, but rest of stove is working.

If the oven isn't working it is either the oven thermostat or the element. If the light and fan comes on to show it's heating but no heat appears, check the fan oven element on the back wall behind the panel. Usually 4 screws.

Electrolux built in wall oven, lights and digital display work fine, fan works fine, but the oven will not heat regardless of the mode (broil, bake, convention roast, convection bake)

Hello stevefer
Welcome.

You said, Your Electrolux built in wall oven, lights and digital display work fine, fan works fine, but the oven will not heat regardless of the mode (broil, bake, convention roast, convection bake)

First,
1.What is the Model Number and the year of your wall oven?
2.Did the oven light up and display with any error codes?
3. Did you try to turn the breaker off for 5 minutes to see if this will reset the system?

Perhaps the heating element is failing and may need to be replaced.
I will be able to better assist you when you reply with this information.
Waiting your response.

Hi, we have a St George wall oven that is making a loud rattling noise that starts when the oven is heated and then comtinues after the oven is turned off. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

there is a casing fan which is out of sight and that is what is making the noise. take oven out, remove top and fan will be revealed. may have to be replaced or possibly try a squirt of wd40
