Ok. Well basically CD, DVD and Hard Drives are all cross compatible platforms so you don't have to worry about compatibility issues. If your asking me to choose I would say that you remove the CD writer instead. But before you do this make sure you have enough extra sockets in your motherbaord to plug in your Pioneer DVR-1910LS 20x DVD±RW IDE Drive w/LightScribe
if your CD Writer uses IDE interface your inluck coz you can use it in place of the Pioneer DVR-1910LS 20x DVD±RW IDE Drive w/LightScribe
, but if it isn't make sure you have a spare IDE socket in your motherboard. Simply remove the side panel use a flashlight and see if there are vacant IDE sockets, it's usually long in black, white or blue color. see the picture below.
If its vacant follow the steps on the link below simply copy and paste the link on you browsers address bar.
