I have a Toshiba DVD Video Player Model SD 260. I

Hello, The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens, you can clean this by removing the cover of the dvd player . Gently use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens because the lens is fragile. Insert the disc plate into the dvd player and press play, if it does not play try the second method. Ensure the cover of the player is open, connect the power plug to the mains socket and observe the lens if it beam a red light, Also check the ribbon cable use to connect the lens to the printed circuit board, then gently clean the lens with a dry cotton bud , insert the disc plate and press play to see if it play. If it does not play the disc, then this require a change of the lens

Manually eject DVD

Hi there
these tv's are prone to this problem.
there are two solutions.
!. Unplug for a day and then try again. (Seems odd but folk say it works.)
2. There should be a small hole beside the drive slot. unfold a paper clip and push it into the small hole if you can find it the disc should then eject.
PS there is a firmware update on the internet that addresses these problems as the set will keep trying to read unreadable discs constantly.
Hope that helps.

Can't display Pal on My Sony 57" KP-57WS520

There are probably a few problems here. What are you using to play the disc? Some NTSC players will "play" a PAL disc but interpret it as NTSC with the symptom you are describing. You need a DVD player that will play PAL. Many of those will output NTSC directly when set up to do so. The other alternative is to have a PAL compatible player that will output PAL into the converter. To narrow this down specifically, please post the model numbers and the connection scheme for your equipment. Once I understand your current setup, I should be able to describe a method to get this to work for you.

Dvd player will not play or eject the disc. The tv is a 37" with a built in dvd player

Well, I will look into more about this. But, from my experience, any TV that has a build in DVD, VHS, it going to be a problem either now or sometime in the near future. They share the same motherboard inside the TV; when one thing goes wrong on the board it effects everything else as well. Let me ask you this, Is the TV working ok? If it is then the problem could just be in the laser eye within the DVD player itself. If this is the problem, then you can usually just replace the parts within the DVD player, and they might solve your problem.
