Question about Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Samsung Digimax S630

I took my camera to a Photo Printing Machine To print some Pictures I had previously taken by using a USB cable and connecting it to the USB port. After we had finished printing the photos we turned on the camera but the screen did not show anything:it was all black. Before we had taken the camera to the store the camera was working perfectly fine. We have tried just about everything even calling the manufacturer but they did nothing about it, we asked about a replacement since we had only had the camera for less than a year. What can I do????

Hey ana936,
This camera comes with a one year manufacturer’s warranty, and if the camera is not working the manufacturers warranty should cover any repair other than damage to the camera. You could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store to have them send it out to an authorized service center. The manufactures warranty will repair the camera first and if the repair is not cost effective, or the camera is unrepairable the manufacturer should replace the camera. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Cant detec my camera s630 camera samsung on my pc

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My Samsung S630 won't connect to the computer so that I can download photos taken. Any clues as to the problem?

Problem with the actual cable, the USB port being used on the computer, or the actual connection on the camera itself. The quick fix would be to take the memory card out of the camera and purchase a cheap memory card reader that you can put the card into and the PC will read that fine. From there you can copy the images over and even delete them. It reads like a jump drive.

Prices start about $10.

Showing time, date, etc of pictures taken automatically

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
