Even if the bios was messed up during installation, I'm sure that hitting the power button would at least draw electricity too it. Now it may not load anything, and could just show you a blank screen, but the darn thing would still run.
This may be an unrecoverable issue. The bios are very touchy, it's the built in programming that allows the computer to work, never do a bios update directly from the internet, download, save, then run. If the loss of power corrupted the bios, in most cases they cannot be recovered, and since the bios is what tells the machine to power and run, cannot be reloaded. You will probably need to replace the motherboard. Take it to a tech (Bestbuy as a last resort), tell them what happened and see if he/she can recover it. Techs have diagnostic discs for this, however and again, if it won't power due to corrupt bios, the disc won't do any good and they'll probably tell you the same, motherboard replacement. I hope I'm wrong on this and it's just something simple.

What's going on with these BIOS upgrades? I just flashed the BIOS on my mother's A215-S7433 and it shut down like the instructions said it would. Now it will not boot and will not read from the CD drive. What is going on here that so many people are having issues with it? I've flashed the BIOS on other systems and never had an issue. :/
