Flash/update the router's firmware and a reset(press and hold reset button for 30 seconds.

Disable UPnP support either on the router or on your gaming console.

Hope this will solve your problem.

Happy gaming!!!

The playstation 3 does not work with certain games saying there is an error on the router (error code: 80710723) How can we open more ports on the router? Thanks for your help

Generally what happens is that progress will stall whilst you are trying to update the firmware or software/games on your PS3, causing it to be corrupted. Your console is then unable to function properly, and you are left trying to "pick up the pieces" as it were. The PS3 error 80710723 is one of these system update errors, and is often experienced by gamers who use wireless connections to update their firmware or games.

So how can you fix PS3 system update error? Here are a few steps you can take to try and fix the 80710723 error code yourself.

  1. In your System Options/Network Settings you need to go and disable a setting called "media server". Doing this has been reported to fix the PS3 system update error in a number of different cases.
  2. If you are using a wireless network connection then switch to a wired connection and attempt to update your console. Wireless connections can have interference, or fail from time to time. Therefore it is better to use a wired Internet connection where possible.
  3. As a last ditch resort you can actually download the update from the Sony website onto your PC, then load that update onto a USB stick and plug it into your PS3 and carry out the update process from there. However, it is best to actually try and fix your connection problems first.

How long should it take for a ps3 to update?

This depends on your connection, your connection speed, update size, your router, and distance from the router. For instance if you have a 5mb connection with a wireless router to your ps3 in a room across the house, and a ps3 in the same room as the router, the one closer would download faster. So I would say it could be anywhere from the range of a few min to a couple of hours.

How can i get download for playing ps 2 games to play on my ps3

Keep in mind that the 20, and 40gb are not backwards compatible. There are two ways to do this. The easy way and the hard way.

Easy way: As long as your PS3 is connected to the internet go to PS store search PS2 system data and download.

Hard way: If you do not have a internet connection to your PS3 you will need either a USB flash drive or a memory stick. Plug one or the other into your computer and on that drive create a folder labeled PS3. Open that folder and create another one labeled UPDATE. Then proceed to the PSN site on your computer and search PS2 system data then download to the second file. Now take your card and plug into the PS3. Under settings select system update and then select (Update via storage media).

- Physically connect the PS 3 to the Belkin router on one of the LAN connection

- Check the connection of the PS3 (if not connecting through)

- Contact your PS 3 manufacturer to gather the ports of the PS 3 and open it on the port forwarding of your router configuration page.

Note: you'll needing to allow the ports of your PS3 and IP address to the Belkin router.

PS3 Internet connection

Hello. If your PS3 is near your PC you can just use the same ethernet cable from your PC and plug it into the back of your PS3, turn on the PS3, go to Network settings then Network Connection Settings and choose wired connection and easy setup. Confirm it at the end then test the connection. When done with that, go to the PS Network tab and sign up, then download the newest update and play your heart out!! I wish you luck. Thanks!!

Random DNS Error

You may need to manually configure your PS3 connection on the console. Let's see.. I can suggest to first go to your Settings Menu -> Network Settings -> Choose:"Settings and Connection Status List" this will display a pretty detailed information about your connection to your local gateway (router).. Check specifically for Primary and Secondary DNS. In my experience, using the PS3's auto setup for the connection seems to enter the default gateway's ip (labeled "Default Router" on PS3 Status Screen) in place of the real DNS entries..

Question
: Sooo how do you check your primary/secondary DNS for your network? Answer: On your PC, open a web browser and enter your default gateway ip into the browser.. log into your router (assistance can be found in your router manual or by calling your router manufacture). You should see a status page of sorts that displays your ISP's primary/secondary DNS entries.. Simply transfer those two IPs to your PS3 manually to correct the DNS issue.

Hopefully that should resolve your issue!
