Check the negative solder connections on two capacitors located right next to each other they are C809 and C810 often they will cause the sympyom youre describing. If that doesnt help Let me know and I will assist you by helping you trouble shoot the start up circuitry on your model. Just post any responses to this same post or alwasy include your model number so I have access to who you are and what model you have.

To Loryd:

Please accept our apologies for an inappropriate response such as that which has been posted by adhamsaid88 here. This is not the way FixYa experts conduct business, nor is it considered acceptable or to be expected on this site.

I am not an expert on televisions, but we will attempt to resolve this situation for you. Other experts will, I am sure, weigh in on this who are much more knowledgeable on the matter than I. I am sure they will help you, and you will not see the type of behavior that unfortunately has been displayed by adhamsaid88. I have posted a notice to other experts to ask them to look at this matter, as well.

My only thought would be that you may have experienced some type of power surge or other power-related incident. This could, in theory, have affected lamps and/or circuits... If you are knowledgeable in these areas, it probably would be a good idea to check for any such obvious problems. However, make sure that it is unplugged so that you don't take an electrical risk, and another true expert should be getting back to you.

Please feel free to post back if you do not receive enough assistance to resolve your issue, and accept our apologies for the unacceptable response posted previously by this individual.

Thank you for using FixYa - we will work with you to try to help determine the cause of your problem!

LCD Won't Power On

Blinking of power light is fault indication. From the number of blink that occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit side. These are called blinking codes. To know more about these blinking coded, visit the site. It has details about blinking codes to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts. If you check the site in Timeslide option, which can be selected from the dropdown list at the top left side of the display window, it will make search easy.

I have a WS-65907 tv, it wont turn on

Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and "menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and two blinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

Sony blinking codes

If i remember correctly ten blinks means a high voltage error.
The only thing you could try is unplugging the power cord then plug it back in and try turning on the tv. If it still won't turn on try unplugging the power cord for five hours or longer and try again. If it still won't turn on it would be best to find a local repair shop that works on sony tv's and have them repair it for you.

No picture, funny noise

The funny noise is probibly the balist trying to strike the lamp. It will try several times to strike the lamp and if it is un successful, the lamp light will begin blinking on the front of the set. If so you have a bad bulb

Toshiba model 61h71 red light comes on /no picture or sound

We had the same problem, open the panel on the back of the tv, the board on the left, not the one with the convergence chips. Inside the tv u will see a piece of paper with the fuse info. The board on the left unscrew it and flip it away from you, the fuses to test are at the bottom, on the circuit board it will say 125volt 5 amp, and the number starts with an f. they are small and rectangular and black. Check all but the 3 at the bottom are usually the culprits Hope this helps u

Blinking power light

Our 61H71 just did the same thing! I have found on another site where a fuse on the Convergence board was replaced as a fix for this issue...however, fuses are usually symptoms not causes...it is very difficult to find availabe information on this issue...it may be time to call a professional...Good Luck!
