If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Here is a video to walk you thru the repair. If you will post your make and model number of your machine, I will be able to point you the part you need.

The dryer will not start when you push the switch. Have checked the plug and power at the box. It sounds like the clock on the setting is working, but nothing happens when you push the button.

you may have a bad start button or a bad door switch these are the first thing to check out.if those check ok then you may have a bad motor.i hope this helps good luck

Dryer died

Hi! kiatt28
According to the manufacture (Whirlpool manufactures this model for Kenmore) PF is Power Failure, they do not recommended replacing the control. Have an electrician check the wall receptacle or breaker panel. I suspect you have a loose connection, sometimes it is just time to replace the receptacle.

Dryer won't start

Check your door switch and wires to see if they are damaged first. You may have a bad Start Switch. If it is a 2 wire switch you can tape them together and then plug in dryer ,if it starts, replace the Start switch. Please Rate this!

Dryer does not turn on

Sounds like the motor relay is not functioning. Sometimes the motor will work if the button is pushed but will stop when the button is released. This is caused by a loose wire at the motor or a bad motor relay.
