Question about Dometic NDR 1292 Refrigerator
My refrigerator suddenly stopped cooling effectively. It is a built-in unit in my RV. I live in a very hot climate and when I take the cover off of the rear from the outside of the RV it seems like the air around the coils is very hot. I tried running it on AC and propane to no avail. The freezer is still cold enough near the cooling element to freeze ice but everything else is defrosted. The fridge is so warm all my milk and eggs and such have spoiled. What should I do?
I have two problems with my model NDR1292 (1999 Fleetwood motorhome)
(1) The refrigerator side does not stay cold enough.
(2) Should the water from the coil, etc., drain outside? When I pour water under the coil on the frig, side, it comes out at the drain on the bottom of the freezer, I've tried blowing out the lines and using bleach.
I have the same model.... it is installed in a non roof vented application. IE top vent and botton vent on the side of the unit. There are two 12v pancake fans installed to circulate cool air from the bottom louver out to the top louver. If the Thermostat attached to the upper fins is not working properly the fans will not turn on. Or your fans may be Burnt out. I replace mine with two large Computer fans with red led lights. Now I know when the fans are on ....... Fridge works great.......

We had a similar problem with our RV fridge. We were told to remove the refrigerator and lay it on it's side for a couple of hours. (Something about getting the amonia circulating. We then stood it back up for the same amount of time before re-installing. I'm not sure this is the fix, but it fortunately worked for us.

This sounds like a compressor problem. if the outside coils are getting hot (and properly ventilated) but the inside of the unit is not getting cold then the heat is coming from the compressor.
