Question about Canon Cameras
First turn on the camera and press the DISP button on the back of the camera (lower left corner). The DISP button manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. But if that doesn't fix it, then take the camera back for exchange. Black pictures are usually indicative of a defective CCD imager, and hence a defective camera. You can't fix this yourself.
