Please allow us to apologize for the unacceptable response you received from adhamsaid88. FixYa does not support posting of this type of material, and we, as true experts, do not either.

Though I am not an expert in this particular area, I have researched your product to find an answer for you. Please see page 5 of the manual for this product at http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/LZH-100W.pdf. It seems, unfortunately, that the country / region code is set by the manufacturer for the area in which it is marketed, and there is no option described for changing it.

The site for Kenwood in Australia is at au.kenwood.com, and contact information at http://www.kenwood.com/cgi-bin/inter_contact.cgi?country_form=1&default_address=%3CB%3EKenwood+Corporation%3C%2FB%3E+%3CBR%3E2967-3%2C+Ishikawa-machi%2C+Hachioji%2C+Tokyo+%3CBR%3E192-8525%2C+Japan+%3CBR%3ETEL%3A+81%28426%2946-5111%3CBR%3EFAX%3A+81%28426%2946-7960%3CBR%3E&default_email=info@kenwood.com&mailto_others=info@kenwood.com&country=Australia&x=17&y=10.

You might try to get ahold of them to see if there is a way to change the code that they simply have not documented. Failing that, perhaps they will be gratuitous enough to help you exchange it for a product that will function properly in your location.

Again, please accept our apologies for the unacceptable material posted in the original "response" to your request for help. I hope that this information has assisted you, and if you need further help, please do not hesitate to post back. Thank you for using FixYa, as there really is a true team of experts who stand ready and willing to help.

How do I change the region code

One way, of course--probably the simplest and safest--would be to play a Region 1 sourced disc in you Australia player, but you would have only a few times you could switch back and forth between "America" and your own region's "Australia" recordings before your player "died" permanently to one or both regions.

Smarter would be to segregate your discs by the two regions; acquire a second player; convert it to region 1 by playing a N. America disc; and, afterwards, play each disc, respectively, on its own like-country-coded player. Players are inexpensive enough to make that feasible. If you are outputting to an entertainment center, it should be little problem to find an AB switching devise to switch from one player output to the other so that you two "countries" can share the same sound center.

I would be hesitant about trying to defeat the anti-piracy circuitry built into all players by other means. Or, at least, contact your player's manufacturer or tech support for advice.

Philips DCP750/37 shows "wrong region"

Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on Fixya.com - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.

Hi I live in Australia and added this model.

acknowledging: Region code hack posted by ZoidsGodzilla, November 22 2006: for the Samsung DVD-V5600

1. Press the DVD button on your remote (the Samsung logo appears)
2. Press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
3. With your remote enter the code: 76884
4. The current region is displayed on the top left corner of the screen. (e.g. 4)
5. Press 9 on your remote (Region free)
6. Again press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
7. Enjoy the Region free player

If your player is NOT Region 4 by default then you will need to Substitute the Numbers in Step 3 with the ones Below.

Region codes:
RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

For Example if your Player was Purchased in the usa ( Which is Region 1) then Step 3 would read :-

3. With your remote enter the code: 129334

Have Fun :0)
