How to clean up start up processes

Questions about optimize start up:
How to remove program from start up?
My computer boots very slow? How do I clean up start up processes?
Windows startup very slow, how to fix it?

Why clean up start up processes?
Windows Startup program will load the default programs or processes you add to your computer. The test result shows a new system only boot within 30 seconds. As you install antivirus program or other applications, it becomes very slow. Sometimes, the startup gets bloated not due to your computer behaviors. Malicious software is prone to add useless processes on startup without your known. You are not aware that your computer becomes more and more slow until serious computer problem occurs. Don’t ignore a slow start up, it is the root of Blue Screen and computer freezing.

How to clean up start up processes?
The first thing you should do is to remove spyware or adware from your computer. I prefer to AVG, it is a free anti-virus program. If you want to clean virus completely, you need boot in safe mode and disconnect your Internet.

Hok is a professor with over ten year’s computer experience. He suggest us use ErrorFix. This is a pc optimize tool which can clean up system registry entries, useless program, start up processes and junk files. With this program, your computer will be obviously improved. Just a few clicks, you can remove processes that slow your computer.

What’s more to speed up your computer?
Do not download Peer-to-Peer Download Software! Maybe you are using some software such like YouTube Downloader. These are probably some of the least likely contenders for system-slowdown but they are popular on the internet. Those kinds of program can take up memory space and damage your computer. Also they can automatically add itself as your start up.

Laptop goes slow

It's the nature of the beast (Windows) as they say.

Slow Windows Machine!

  • Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE). High CPU levels causes hang ups like freezing.
  • Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.
  • Consider increasing RAM.
  • Uninstall any extras like those pushy toolbars, and add-ons.

Aspire laptop has become very slow to power up

It is cause by a very serious virus called "Conflicker"
Try to Do a upgrade of 7 (Free upgrade from Microsoft).
The upgrade does not delete your files, it should detect and erase viruses and the startup is quicker. (22 secs on my Dell Inspiron 2200 with 512MB RAM!!!)
Currently, the only other solution is to do a complete re-install.

Slow boot time for Windows XP Pro

You can do that by using "MSCONFIG"

Click 'start' then goto 'run' and type 'msconfig' then click 'Ok'

That will open the Microsoft System Configuration Utility. You can then disable the unnecessary services and apps

Hi everyone, I have HP Compaq6910 notebook. The problem is that when it start windows it was too slow. It will take almost 3 minutes to display the Windows loading bar and another 3 minutes to log in to...

Sounds like you have to many startup programs. Check msconfighttp://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary

Don't download or scan anything they ask but it tells what each processor does so you can manually check which ones you obviously don't need and then uncheck them and choose selective startup.

Your boot time will be much faster. Obviously you want all the neccessary startup files to boot so only uncheck the ones you know you don't need at startup.

I think thats why your screen takes so long to boot.

When we go to turn on our toshiba a100 it sometimes does not load up and we can spend a hour switching it off and on until it loads

check for programs that will load on startup, that could possibly make the system to go slow.

you could also check the anti virus it eats up a lot of memory when booting because of the virus diagnostic on the computer.

to check these go to start on run type msconfig, then check for non windows programs that will load on startup.
