If you want to run Windows 8 on your PC, here's what it takes:
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
As you have Type 6223 which a Xeon faster than 1GHz it should work with Windows 8 but not all Xeon processors are compatible depending on which one you have. See this Microsoft site after you check your Xeon chip family on the motherboard or through the Windows system command. Search for xeon.
i read from your information and picture about your motherboard type..i think yours is not under warranty from factory anymore (GIGABYTE)
for additional information your mainboard (MB) is using old type of intel chip set (Intel 865 series) and only support intel processor type Pentium 4 with 478 pin with 533 MHz bus processor..
talking about warranty from factory GIGABYTE only give 3 years warranty only for MB with minimum chipset intel ICH 7 and up..that's mean MB must be support processor minimum 775 pin and 1155 pin or support intel Pentium D,Dual Core,Core2Duo or Core i series...
No, u can't. ur motherboard is designed for pentium III processors with FSB -133 MHz, Socket-370 type. Pentium 4 processors have 400 MHz FSB, 423 Socket at least. But yes for memory, u can upgrade it to 512 MB.
Here is Windows Xp requirements:
PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features) 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space* Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor CD-ROM or DVD drive Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
Every system needs a rock-solid foundation, and that's just what you get with this Gigabyte GA-8S649MF motherboard. It features Socket 775 compatibility and support for Intel Pentium 4 or Pentium Dual-Core processors with 800 MHz front side bus speeds. Two DIMM slots support up to 2 GB of DDR400 system memory.
your board is compatible with pentium 3 processors through the "coppermine" revision, the pentium 3 "tulatin is not supported" here is a list from wikipedia of the "coppermine" processors supported by your board.:
Ese procesador usa el FSB en 133 Mhz y el motherboard tiene el FSB en 66 mhz, tenés que entrar en la bios y cambiarlo por 133, si no te permite hacer ese cambio es porque el motherboard no soporta ese procesador.
