Depending on what model it is, there should be 2 screws on the bottom of the front  panel. take those out and pull the bottom toward you and unhook it from the top panel. then you can see inside the dryer pretty good. btw there is a small panel in the back you can take off to get a better view if needed.

How do i access the back of a Model #MDE8600AYW - MAYTAG Dryer. i think i need to replace the drum rollers but dont think i can from the front panel.

yes it can be accessed from the front panel as it is located on the back right inside of the dryer.
1) unplug dryer
2) open door remove screws
3) with a flat tip screw driver pry gently up on the top corners it will pop
4) move front panel forward and disconnect door switch
5) sit panel aside
6) lift top lid of dryer 90 degrees it has clip/hinged on back
7) look to the right back of dryer, it looks like a spring in a metal box disconnect and replace.
Hope this helps Tim

Maytag model# MED5700TQ0 Suddenly will not start. Light inside works, so electric power is on. Could the start button have gone bad?

i would start with the door latch if its broken the dryer will think its door is open and wont turn on

Bad odor from dryer

A dead mouse would have crawled up fro the bottom. Carefully tip the unit back and see if you have an unexpected guest.

Maytag mde6800ayw dryer. no power at all. light works inside and im getting 220v. im told that there was a power outage and when it came back on the dryer was dead. im guessing the control board.

your guessing right then,,,
often if the power is cut off when its restored the sudden punch of power can blow the bords chips up,
its nothing new,, if they has a soft start it would not happen to them,,
sorry you need a new program bord

You have a bad fuse. Will probably have to have a repairman replace it. It is hard to get to
