My Isignia HDTV worked for about 2 1/2 years until one day it wouldn't turn on. When I try to turn it on, the power light starts blinking and the TV chirps at me. Anyone know what that is? Do I need a new bulb?

Re: Power light blinks and TV gives chirping sound
It may be the power supply has failed, and or one of the board has a short in it. You will have to find out who services this model of set in your area. They will have to use board substitution to service it. It is possible that the parts are no longer available for this model. The service rep can tell you that.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. how many blinks does the red light give in a row? This would be an error code?
The problem for 7 blinks would be an Interface board. Apparently there is a glitch in the interface board that sends signals to the television.
Basically the glitch shorts out the board and the t.v wont turn on and
you will see the power light blink 7 times pause then 7 more. You can
replace the board with a new one and update the software on the new interface board.
If is isn't 7, let me know and I will help you out with this
same problem with mine its not something you can fix yourself you must sent it back im sorry. since isignia is a best buy only product the fix should be still under warrenty (worked at best buy we warrent the fix for a year if the same problem results we fix it again for free)
This problem very common in sharp tv.The POWER,OPC flashes.First turn on have power LED indicator light stable at all? Tries the power again couple times will have backlight come back on,than it will work. Not at all more than 5-6 times than ur main turner signal board is the problem, must replaced.
I have this TV. My father in law tried to turn it on one day and it started making a clicking sound and never came on. So he went out and bought a new tv and gave it to me. It came on when I brought it home and worked for a couple weeks. Then just the other day it stopped working. When you hit the power button the light around it blinks four times and then you here a clicking sound. TV does not come on. Took the back panel off and I don't see any damaged caps or fuses.
My phillips 42" is the same way. Just started popping up the settings menu the other day and wouldn't stop popping up until I downloaded the software upgrade from the Phillips web site. But now, two days later it won't do anything but give that same annoying red blinking light. The customer service says to take it to an authorized repair center. sounds like they have a ton of these calls everyday. The solution is to buy it from Costco, and make sure you return it and get a new one before their return policy expires.
