I'm taking over as WDs harddrive advisor since nobody else seems to be able to do the job.
no copy write law broken there.

I don't care if they hired me officialy or not , I'm taking the job and they can't stop me.

I don't know of any program to help you at this time , but I do know it's just a matter of time.

it's called brute force attack , which can take more than a century if you do it without a quantum computer lol

the software you're looking for will be called ( mionet password cracker ) or something simular

or in a more friendly way it will be called mionet password recovery program

thats as direct as I can be on this site without causing a fuss

hope that gets you kick started in the right direction.

shalom :-)

Can't manage MyBookWorld 1tb we (blue rings)

The issue you are experiencing is an error on our servers. Our next version of MioNet should prevent and resolve the issue, but in the meantime you must complete the following steps to regain remote access to your My Book World (blue rings):

To create a new MioNet account, please use the following instructions:

Part A. Reset MioNet/Anywhere Access

1. Please open your web browsers and enter (without the quotes) "http://<IP address of My Book World>" or "http://mybookworld" in the address bar. The Shared Storage Manager web page will appear. The username and password it requests will be the same as your MioNet username, and the original password used for MioNet (if you changed your password on our website, it does not update the My Book World).

2. Once you have accessed the Western Digital Shared Storage Manager please select "General Setup", then choose "WD Anywhere Access settings". On the following page you will have three buttons to select: please click on the "Stop" button, wait until WD Anywhere Access status goes to "Inactive", then click the "Reset" button. Once the WD Anywhere Access Status goes to "Not Registered," (on older firmware, it will go back to Active), the My Book World has been properly reset. This will return the MioNet software on the My Book World to default settings. It will not harm your stored files.

Part B. Uninstall and Reinstall MioNet (on a computer located on the same network as My Book World)

1. Uninstall MioNet from one of your computers.
2. Insert your Western Digital installation disk or download MioNet from http://www.mionet.com/mbvista and launch the MioNet installer.

NOTE: You must use the installation disk or the link above to create your new account. Certain functionality related to the My Book World is related to the installer you use to register a new MioNet account. Failure to use the proper installer may result in the need to repeat this process.

3. Register as a new user. You will need to specify a new username and E-Mail address.
4. During the installation, MioNet should detect the now reset My Book World. Please add it to your new account.

Part C. Uninstall and Reinstall MioNet on your other computers

1. Uninstall MioNet from your other computers.
2. Install MioNet using the Western Digital installation disk or downloaded from MioNet from http://www.mionet.com/mbvista and launch the MioNet installer.
3. Register as a current user with your new account's information.

Please let us know what your new account name is and we will follow-up with additional information. We will also send you instructions on how to reset that account's password.

Can't Access to MioNet, Can't access to WD Drive

It's a MioNet issue -- if you create a new MioNet account and reset the WD Anywhere Access/MioNet settings on the My Book World (accessible from the drive's interface on its http://ip or http://name address), you'll be able to access the drive again.

So here're your steps:

1. Reset the My Book World's MioNet settings (there's a reset button within the interface)
2. Uninstall MioNet (restart when it tells you to)
3. Re-install MioNet from the CD that came with your drive (restart again when it tells you to)

During this process it should find your My Book World and ask you to give it a name. Once you have completed the process, you should see the My Book World once again in your MioNet interface and be able to see the folders that are only visible when MioNet is running.

If you have any questions or want to speak with a MioNet Tech (I am one of them, my name is Laura), call our WD number at 1-800-275-4932 and tell them you have "Account Bug"

After instaling mionet i loose my ip-settings

the problem is another Filter Driver on your Network Card. MioNet installs a WinPK Filter Driver (you can't see it under the "This Connection Uses" list under Windows XP, but you can under Vista) on all of your NICs, so if there is a filter driver from other software, such as your Internet Security, you can lose Internet connection. Go to Control Panel > Network Connections, right-click on either wireless or local area connection, and go to properties. Check the "This connection uses the following items:" box for anything with the word Filter in it, select it, then click Uninstall.

MioNet is also not compatible with the following programs for this very reason:
Sygate Personal Firewall
BullGuard
Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall
AOL Xdrive

Mionet application doesn't show files in subfolders of shared folders

I believe you have a choice of using either the web interface or the desktop version of Mionet when you are on the same network (LAN), and as you mentioned both of you have no problem when you are on the same network as the NAS drive (MBWE) is.

When you are out of the local network where your NAS drive is, the only choice you would have is the web interface of Mionet. Eventhough you may have installed the desktop version of Mionet tool on a remote PC, I don't think you can access through that desktop tool. Sorry !!!

Mionet problem

The issue you are experiencing is account bug. You must reinstall MioNet and create a new MioNet account, then attach the My Book World to the new account. You will then regain your MioNet access.
http://www.MioNet.com/mbvista -- this is the download installer for MioNet which works for blue-ring My Book Worlds. The White-Light My Book World requires different software.

Offline mybookworld (WD)

I've never even heard of mionet till now , went to the site , I can see it's a webcam device with a hard drive ?

reguardless of all that , tripple check the hard drive of the mionet webcam device as if you would a regular hard drive , of course remember if your ibook see it , it could be because the drive is somehow compatable with ibook , it could mean the hard drive is formated in a manor compatable with ibook , aka a mac type partition created by the mionet program , either way diagnostic proceedures apply , this all sure smells like a cheep webcam scam to me , but thats a little unprofessional of me to say that , lets just start with the basics , is the drive partitioned by any special sofware , is it a MAC partition , is it a DOS partition , is it an Non Dos parition

honestly don't blame the hard drive if you don't know what altered it.

lets dig in slowly , lets have a look at the parition table.

Go into task manager, kill all Mionet processes. Then start it again from the start menu. You should now have access.
