For windows 7 you have to change the power settings and stop it from hibernating.Go to control panel. Go to System And Security. Go to power options / Change when the computer sleeps and change that setting to never. It gets locked in a perpetual loop when it hibernates and locks up..

Monitor keeps hibernating, can't make it stop, pixel issue.

Hey,

I think this is more of a problem on your computer instead of the monitor, ofcourse you could try another monitor and see if the same happens. I suspect your computer goes into standby or hibernation on its own, and it does work fine if you reset the computer right?

if you go into power management again, disable or turn off hibernation completely, its on one of the pages.
Make sure its not set to standby, and also disable your screen saver.

Right click on desktop - properties - then screensaver. turn it to none.

Also you could look into the computer bios and make sure its not set to standby or hibernation from there. thats unlikely but you could check.

how to get into bios.. depends on the computer, right when you turn it on, on one of the corners of the screen you will get a message, press button to enter setup or bios. press that to enter bios when its presented.

look around the bios and poweroptions.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

I have a hp laptop i bought last 2006.suddenly when i'm pushing the tunr on button it doesnt turn i could light from the laptop but my screen is blank

Sounds like you may of put the Laptop into Sleep or Hibernation Mode. If you have a User Manual for your Machine, then have a look on how to Activate/Deactivate Sleep/Hibernation Mode, as it's usually a combination of keys. If you have not got a manual, then let me know the Model Number of your Macjhine and I'll get it for you :-).

My acer computer will turn on but wont come out of hibination mode

Some laptops have issues with Windows XPs hibernation mode. To get the computer back up again you should just hold the power button down until it shuts off completely. Some laptops won’t shut off even if you do this. When this happens you have to take the battery out to get it to turn off. Make sure it is not plugged into the wall when you do this otherwise it wont work.

Once you get the computer back running again you may want to disable hibernation if it seems like its going to keep happening. Go to Start, Settings Control Panel or Start, Control Panel and go to the Power Options icon. Change the hibernation section to never. You may want to try standby as an alternative. Standby saves all your running applications and documents into RAM while hibernate saves them to the hard drive. Hibernate uses less power from your battery, but it will take you considerably longer to get the computer back up. If you always plug the computer in then you may want to disable standby and hibernate since you really dint need them while plugged in.

Let me know if this works.

My Gateway laptop is hibernating and won't turn on.

Hi ckboo,

You can disable the hibernating under display properties.

Right click on an empty area on your desktop, go into power management, choose Hibernate tap and uncheck option for hibernation.

Hope this helps and good luck.

How do i get my siemens v2010 laptop out of hibernation.the screen has suddenly gone dark.the computer turns on and is fine, but you can only just see whats on the screen

You might have to restart the computer if it is stuck in hibernation. The best thing is to go to your settings and turn the Hibernation setting and sleep settings off. Go into your display settings to find this. Also when your computer starts look for the BIOS option to show on the screen to check the BIOS and make sure it is turned off there. To get to the BIOS hit the DEL key or one of the F keys to get into the BIOS. Do not password the BIOS of your Laptop. This can cause a lot of problems if you forget this password. It can not be recovered easy.

Yes, WinXP's relationship with your laptop's drivers has gone sour, like Pet Sematary. Bury your laptop...no wait, just reload the laptop's drivers (Dell or Toshiba or whatever) so hibernate works correctly...or un-fiddle with any hibernate/sleep/low-power utilities you use. Alternately consider that your laptop's reading signals from the battery or a cooling fan; telling XP or the BIOS that component is not in tolerable condition, and thus shutting down.

Have your feet rolfed while you fix that situation up.

My pc turn off after e few minutes

It sounds like you have "Hibernation" mode activiate. Try these steps to re-configure Hibernation....
It can be configured to kick in automatically via the Power Options Properties screen. In the screen capture below I've selected the Portable/Laptop power scheme that includes a setting to put the system into hibernation mode after 3 hours of system inactivity.
sp32-20040707-141822.gif The Advanced Tab in Power Options Properties gives you the option of setting Power buttons to invoke hibernation. Many keyboards contain a 'Sleep' key that is very convenient to use with hibernation as illustrated in the screen capture below.
sp32-20040707-210802.gif
You can select "NEVER" in the pull down menu....

Let me know if this helps!
