Question about Electrograph Systems DTS50PTD 50 in. Plasma Television
There are no lamps in a Plasma display. The fault can be anything from the power supply to the drive processor. On some occasions I have seen the display itself go defective.
I would not suggest buying boards to service the set yourself. You can end up guessing at boards that are not defective, and when installing a new board it blows again, because there are other faults that were the cause of the failure in the first place.
The service rep will test the set using factory diagnistics and board substitution. When he finds the defective boards, he will install and adjust the new boards as necessary. I found that when the power supply is defective, there are usualy other faults in these sets.
If your set is out of warranty, you may find it very expensive to have it serviced.
